ELLA SIMMS - Co-Maid of honor
My not so little sister anymore...I asked for a sister for so long when I was a kid and got the best one when I was 10 years old. I can't remember many times getting in fights, all I can remember is sharing a room with bunkbeds, going to her sports games, protecting her, joking around, coming to her when I was sad, getting her to face her fears (the Tower of Terror at Disney), and obsessing over our dog together. My best friend for life, my sister.
DANA PIEHL - Co-Maid of honor
Dana and I met at our first jobs in high school at Papa Murphy's Pizza. I loved that job, and Dana was a big reason why. We went to prom together, took many road trip, and went on my first trip out of the country together. I often ask myself WWDD (what would Dana do?). She's the best at giving advice and is always there for me. I am so grateful to have her as my best friend and co-maid of honor.
BLAIR MURPHY-POCIASK - Co-Best Man
Blair, my youngest brother, was often the target of my teasing. I used to call him "egghead" to make fun of him. However, I have fond memories of playing in the backyard with Blair, bouncing on the trampoline, and enjoying various adventures while playing our favorite video games. Today, he remains my adventure partner, and I still like to tease him a little from time to time. Although he is my younger brother, I hold him in high regard and admire his qualities. He's my favorite "egghead" and co-best man.
SHANE MURPHY-POCIASK - Co-Best Man
When we were both very young, there were a few close calls between Shane and me that threatened his safety. I'm so grateful he survived my attempts to drown him in the bathtub and my mishaps with his car seat. Thankfully, Shane made it through because I needed a younger brother—albeit one who often showed more maturity than I did—who could offer me tough love. If you know Shane, you know he is a fiercely competitive person. He has overcome significant mental and physical challenges to be where he is today, and I am proud to call him my brother.
ALYSSA SACHS - Bridesmaid
What haven't Alyssa and I done together? We met in middle school and were lucky to live only a few streets apart. We attended church together, ran cross country side by side, and were roommates. I've shared countless laughs with Alyssa while trying to become YouTube famous, going to Chicken Fest at the park between our houses, prank calling at sleepovers, making tie-dye shirts, and creating our own code language. These days, our adventures include concerts, coffee dates, and road trips, and I know we’ll continue laughing through life together.
RACHEL GATTI - Bridesmaid
I met Rachel while working at Papa Murphy's, which was our first job. Our first night hanging out together was when we went to get shaved ice. We quickly became great friends, bonding over our shared loves for art, crafting, thrifting, exploring abandoned buildings, and traveling. We lived out our dreams of a European summer by backpacking through Italy, and the following summer, we explored even more of Europe. Rachel always inspires me to see the beauty in life and to think creatively, and I love her for that!
BRYAN FORBES - Groomsman
Bryan is free-spirited, dependable, and true to his word. He has a contagiously positive attitude that lifts those around him. Over the years, Bryan and I have grown closer through attending music events, gatherings with friends, late-night trips to restaurants and grocery stores, and working out together at the gym. He has always been there for me in times of need, making him one of my most cherished friends.
CESAR HERNANDEZ - Groomsman
Cesar is cool, ambitious, and trustworthy, often considered "the glue" of our expanding group of friends that we've met and kept over the years. When I think about it, this couldn't be more true. Soccer has been a central aspect of our brotherhood over the years. Some of my fondest memories come from playing with and against Cesar. He is a truly special friend due to his dedication, compassion, strength, and the respect he shows to others.
CAYLEE BAERENWALD - Bridesmaid
Caylee has been my neighbor and friend since I was about five years old. When we moved back to Wisconsin from New Hampshire, I was fortunate to have her family living across the street from us. We grew up playing with Barbies and enjoying everything that was available before the age of phones. We played soccer together, neighborhood night games and ran through the sprinkler. She's always been just a few steps or a phone call away.
ANNA MURPHY-POCIASK - Bridesmaid
Ians sister and my soon to be sister-in-law, Anna, welcomed me into the Murphy-Pociask family with open arms! She is always the life of the party and makes every moment we spend together unforgettable. Ian and I have made so many fun memories with her while vacationing in Europe, visiting parents in Arizona, and during her week-long stay with us in Colorado. Gaining a sister-in-law is one thing, but having Anna as my sister-in-law is truly a blessing.
SPENCER VERSTEGEN - Groomsman
Loyal, fun-loving, goofy, great listener and giver of advice are some words that come to mind about Spencer. We have shared many memories and interests from a young age—wrestling in the leaves, skateboarding, soccer, watching Family Guy, and playing risk and ping-pong for years. I value my ongoing friendship with Spencer because we can have difficult conversations and provide unwavering support for each other.
JARRETT SIMMS - Groomsman
My brother and soon to be Ian's brother-in-law. I always hoped that my brother and my future husband would get along well, and that's exactly what happened. We've enjoyed going to Bucks and Brewers games, camping, and vacationing in Hawai'i together. When I was a kid, Jarrett and I used to play Winnie the Pooh or Lego Star Wars on the PS1, and I would always lose. Now, though, I have Ian to beat him for me. Watch out Jarrett, I'm coming for you!
ABBY SANDOZ - Bridal Attendent
Abby has been in my life since middle school! We played both club and school soccer together, as well as basketball while growing up. In our soccer games, Abby played defense while I played midfield. Being the taller girls in our grade, we were often posted up down low in basketball games together. I went to my first concert with Abby in Chicago, and she was always by my side when we snuck out and went to parties in high school. Even now, she’s always up for a crazy adventure with me!
CONNOR MCDONALD - Officiant
We met Connor in 2021 when we moved to Colorado. Connor was in AmeriCorps with Ian. The three of us began to hang out together, and it quickly turned into spending nearly every day together while we lived there. Our days were filled with time at hot springs, hiking, working out, and trying out new recipes. We became a family away from our own, celebrating holidays together and supporting each other through life’s challenges.
One of our most unforgeable adventures was, waking up at 3 AM to hike 23 miles in 15 hours up a 14000-foot mountain. We have visited each other in Illinois, California, and Missouri. We couldn't imagine a more perfect person to marry us than Connor.
