Our Wedding

If you’re in town the day before, we’d love for you to join us for a casual get-together! Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Location: BarmHaus Brewing Co.3782 Winding Creek Ln, Garden Valley, CA 95633Travel Note:Please use Marshall Road when heading to the location.Mount Murphy Road is a steep, narrow, one-lane cliffside road that can be a bit intense if you’re not used to it We’ll be gathering for tacos, drinks, and mingling. There will be a taco truck on-site, and the brewery will have drinks available for purchase. We may also have some Greek dancing lessons for anyone who wants to join in. This is a relaxed, come-and-go gathering, so feel free to stop by if you’re able!

Our wedding day will be relaxed and open-flow, so you’re welcome to arrive and enjoy the park at your own pace.

Daytime

LOCATION:North Beach Marshall Gold Discovery State Park248 CA-49, Lotus, CA 95651 (See attached map for precise location) There is a $10 parking fee if you plan to park at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, unless you have a California State Parks pass. If you're staying nearby, it's a short walk or drive from the main venues. Carpooling or walking is encouraged when possible. All cars must be out of the parking lot by 6:00 PM (This is a public park, so feel free to arrive early and explore!)

Wedding Day Itinerary & Location

We met in college at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada, just a snowball’s throw from the shores of Lake Tahoe. What started as friendship grew into something deeper over hikes, late-night talks, and shared dreams.Since those early days, we’ve built a life full of love, laughter, and the kind of chaos that only comes with a house full of cats and dogs.Now we call Coloma home, the place where the Gold Rush began and where our love continues to grow. It’s a town built on the hope of finding something precious, and for us, it’s a reminder that the most valuable treasures in life aren’t dug from the earth, but built together. Our love is gold—steadfast, bright, and worth celebrating.We’re so excited to share this next chapter with the people we love most, in the place that holds so much of our heart. Weather & Terrain

The ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grass and/or dirt, so bring maybe a hat, and a backup jacket or umbrella just in case. We will not have a tent so it may be sunny or rainy.

Dress Code: Gold Rush Vibes Preferred (1849) / Outdoor Casual

Our wedding will take place in the very place where gold was discovered in 1848, sparking the legendary California Gold Rush of 1849. To honor this historic site, Gold Rush–era attire is highly encouraged! Think Victorian charm meets frontier spirit: For gentlemen: three-piece suits, waistcoats, suspenders, newsboy caps, bow ties, boots, or even a miner’s rugged look with rolled-up sleeves and suspenders. For ladies: long skirts or gowns with lace or ruffles, corsets, puffed sleeves, prairie dresses, shawls, bonnets, or wide-brimmed hats. Accessories welcome - from pocket watches and parasols to boots and gold-toned accents. Gold Rush attire is encouraged but not mandatory! Wear whatever makes you feel good. **DO keep in mind this is an outdoor wedding at a historic park. That means dirt paths, uneven ground, and the chance of sunshine or rain (April can be unpredictable in Coloma). Comfortable shoes are highly recommended, and layers never hurt!

Pets

Yes, pets are absolutely welcome! We’ll be bringing our own cats and dogs, and we’d love for you to include your furry family members too. Just make sure they’re well-behaved, leashed or securely contained, and cleaned up after. It’s a public park, so let’s keep it safe and fun for everyone!

American River Resort

Located just below the famous Troublemaker Rapids, Coloma Cottages offers seven beautifully appointed one- and two-bedroom cottages on a private, gated five-acre riverfront property. Each cottage is fully furnished with equipped kitchens, linens, towels, and more. It's within walking distance to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. Pets Allowed: Yes, with pre-approval. Other Options:Coloma is small, but nearby towns like Placerville also offer additional lodging—including hotels, inns, and motels. Just keep in mind that it’s a bit more of a commute to the wedding venue (about 20–25 minutes). You’re also welcome to check options such as Airbnb or VRBO for other accommodations in the area.

April weather in Coloma can be unpredictable, and rain is possible but here are some outdoor activities to enjoy (rain or shine if you're into that!):Hiking &amp; Walking Trails The park and surrounding area have several scenic trails along the river and through the foothills. Pack good shoes if you want to explore!Floating, Tubing &amp; Playing in the WaterIf it’s warm enough, you can enjoy the calmer side of the river, too! There are mellow sections perfect for lounging in a tube, floating downstream, or just dipping your toes in from the riverbank. Some areas even have little beaches for relaxing or letting kids and pets splash around.Whitewater Rafting Coloma is known for its rafting trips on the American River. Several local companies offer half-day or full-day adventures.
