After graduating from UMass Amherst, Alex had moved back home to Sudbury. Like many summer weekends, Alex set off for another eventful Cape Cod weekend, staying in Centerville with groomsmen Lee Gavin. Meanwhile, after graduating Villanova University and working in Philadelphia for two years, Jaime decided that it was time to move back to the Boston area. With life in transition, Jaime jumped at the first opportunity to see her friends from Framingham who had rented a Cape house for the week of July 4th.Alex spent the day enjoying Craigville/Long Beach with several friends, when Jaime joined some mutual friends on the beach to kill time before they could check into their rental. After meeting for the first time, Jaime was mesmerized by the tall blonde drop of Cape Cod water (can you tell that Alex wrote this?). Later that evening, the beach crew reunited at a bar in downtown Hyannis. After talking more throughout the night, Alex asked Jaime if he would ever see her again, and the two exchanged phone numbers. Little did they know it at the time, but July 4th weekend 2012 would be marked as their "love blossoming" for years to come (thanks goes to Sammy O'Shea for coining this term).Four years later after many dates, hours of Netflix, and dozens of trips together (even one across the world!), Alex took Jaime back to Craigville Beach one more time. On July 9th 2016, the most overcast and windy day of the month, Alex asked Jaime to help him pick up Four Sea's ice cream for a family BBQ later that evening. Upon passing Four Sea's, Alex convinced Jaime that they had plenty of time before they had to be back and should enjoy the beach for a few minutes. The two walked back to roughly the same spot where they met, Alex got down on one knee and asked Jaime to be his wife. After reassuring Jaime that it was real life and that she could keep the ring (Jaime repeatedly asked "this is MINE?!" so clearly she was happy with it) the two returned back to Harwich Port to the house Alex's family had rented to be surprised by several family and friends to celebrate the engagement. It was an amazing day that they will remember forever!Jaime and Alex are so excited to celebrate their big day with family and friends. October 7, 2017 cannot come soon enough!
