In the summer of 2023, we both found ourselves in Washington D.C. for the FFA State Officer Summit. Jaime representing Texas, and Cole representing New Mexico. Our first conversation wasn’t about the weather, hobbies, or our favorite movies — it was about chickens. And somehow, that worked. What started as a dear friendship quickly blossomed into something deeper. Despite the miles between us — Jaime studying at Texas A&M and Cole attending Casper College in Wyoming — we dove headfirst into a long-distance relationship built on faith, friendship, and more FaceTime calls than we can count. Between the two of us, we've judged more animals than most people see in a lifetime. Jaime is a national champion poultry judge, and Cole competes across the nation livestock judging just about every week. Basically, we’re really good at looking at animals and forming opinions. Since that first poultry convo, we’ve traveled to 8 states together, shared about a million laughs, and confirmed that yes — agriculture and the FFA bring people together in the most perfectly crafted way. We’re beyond excited to start our next chapter together — no judging this time. Unless it’s poultry or livestock. Then we’re definitely judging.
