Our Wedding

“Love in high school? They said it wouldn’t last…”    Well, we put that to the test and now we’re getting married!

Jaiva and Eric's story began in the bustling hallways of Ezell-Harding Christian School in 2015. Eric, a standout on the football field and awarded MVP his senior year, was a familiar face. Jaiva, known for her quick wit and bubbly personality – even earning the Most Wittiest superlative in her senior year while also winning Prom Queen – was a vibrant presence, always ready with a smile and a funny remark. She was also a dedicated cheerleader for the football and basketball teams. The Midnight Bash, a pre-season football scrimmage, provided the stage for their first encounter. Amidst the excitement and friendly competition, Jaiva caught Eric's eye with her usual playful banter. A month later, they were friends, enjoying casual conversations and shared laughs. Then came September 18th, a day that would forever hold a special place in their relationship. Jaiva's friends, growing tired of hearing her gush about Eric, decided to take matters into their own hands. During lunch, they subtly hinted to Eric that Jaiva might have a crush on him. Jaiva watched with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment as the conversation unfolded. To her surprise, Eric approached Jaiva shortly after, asking for her number. My cell number? Jaiva questioned. Naw, your home number, Eric replied with a mischievous grin and a sarcastic tone. They spent the rest of the day immersed in texts, laughing and getting to know each other better.The next day, Jaiva playfully teased him, You never actually asked me to be your girlfriend! And so, September 19th became their official anniversary, a reminder of the playful banter that has always been a cornerstone of their relationship. High school gave way to college, bringing with it the challenges of long-distance. They navigated those miles with countless phone calls, visits during breaks, and a deep appreciation for every moment together. Jaiva pursued a degree in Health Studies at the University of Memphis, while Eric pursued a degree in Business Information Systems at Tennessee State University. In a remarkable twist of fate, they both graduated college on the same day, May 6th, 2023! While celebrating together wasn't possible that day, they made sure to remember and cherish this significant milestone. Today, Jaiva thrives in the dynamic world of Healthcare Information &amp; Technology industry, while Eric excels in the field of Business Logistics. Fast forward to now, and they stand on the precipice of a new chapter. They are incredibly grateful for the journey that has brought them to this point, filled with laughter, shared dreams, and unwavering support. They can't wait to celebrate their love with all of you!
