Q + A

Wedding Welcome Party

We will be hosting a casual welcome party the evening before the wedding on August 20th to kick of the festivities. We have a reservation booked at Twin City Brewing in Port Alberni starting at 6:30 and would love to give you a hug and catch up before the big day if you happen to be in town!

RSVP Details

Please RSVP no later than July 1st 2025 as we have to give final numbers to our wedding vendors to ensure we are planning accordingly for the final guest count.

What time should I arrive on the wedding day?

Please arrive no later than 2:40pm on the day of the wedding as we will be promptly starting our ceremony at 3:00pm. We will be staying onsite at the lodge from the 19th-24th of August so if you happen to be in town any of those days make sure to reach out so we can schedule in some quality time outside the wedding. We would love to see you all!

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be held on site at West Coast River Lodge in Port Alberni. Both the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors and our reception is taking place under a clear top tent.

Will there be an open bar?

We have decided to make our cocktail hour open bar! Consider these drinks on us as a thank you for attending our special day. After that, craft cocktails and drinks will be $5.00 each for the evening, curtesy of our bar team @travelbar.vanisle.

What kind of food are we having?

Our wedding will be catered by the incredible @menschcatering team! We will have an assortment of passed canapes including a fresh oyster bar for cocktail hour. For dinner, we will be eating family style with dishes that showcase quality fresh ingredients and are locally sourced from around the island. In addition to this amazing meal, we will be having a late night snack around 10:30pm.

Where should we fly into if we are coming from out of town?

If you are coming from out of town and want an adventure, we’d recommend flying into Victoria and road tripping around Vancouver Island. Port Alberni is about a 2.5 hour drive from the airport. If you only have time for a quick trip, you can fly into Nanaimo or Comox which will put you only an hour and a half away from the venue. Regardless of where you are flying into, we highly suggest booking a rental car ahead of time so you can explore the island!

How do we get there?

The venue has ample parking for those guests choosing to drive. Please consider alternative arrangements for getting home if you choose to drink - we love you all and want to make sure you are safe! The address is 7379 Rincon Rd, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 9E9.

Do you have a registry?

Having you celebrate with us is a gift on it's own. We know it's not traditional, not usually the way it's done. But instead of a wedding gift, we'd like a bit of sun. We've lived together for quite some time, and all of our bills are paid. We've got our plates, our pots and pans - our plans have all been made. So if you'd like to give a gift and help us celebrate - some money towards our honeymoon we would most appreciate!

Can we bring our kids?

Although we absolutely love each and every one of your kiddos, to allow all of our guests to relax and enjoy themselves we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you and giving you the night off from parenting duties! Our only anticipated exception to this rule would be to infants who are still nursing. Please note that we are only specifying the "adults only" rule for the wedding day. Should you be travelling with your little ones and will be in the area before and/or after the wedding, we would of course love to see you all!

Can I bring a guest/date?

If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as intimate as possible with close family and friends.

Dress Code?

We are going for a "boujee" backyard garden party vibe so think summery colours & florals. We can't wait to see you all get dressed up with us! If you need some ideas, you can Pinterest "Garden Party Wedding Guest".
