Coffee
Neo Coffee ($)
We saw Shawn Mendes here once while enjoying Meg's favourite breakfast cookie.
Boxcar Social ($$)
Waterfront coffee shop close to the venue and by the lake - can't get much better than that.
Our go to beans at home, with exceptional staff, service, and product.
The Library Specialty Coffee ($)
Jake's favourite coffee in the city - this title comes with a lot of weight if you know Jake and his coffee...
Lunch
Wilbur Mexicana ($)
Our 'I don't feel like cooking tonight' favourite. Fun Fact: We used to live right above it.
Cà Phê Rang ($$)
Bahn Mi is exceptional. This is Matty Matheson's mentor, chef Rang Nguyen's restaurant, and Michelin Bib Gourmand certified.
Juicy Dumpling ($)
Get the soup dumplings (and get a LOT of them). Single best bang-for-your-buck bite you can get.
Wellington Market (at The Well)
Toronto local restaurants in a food-court-style setting. The closest and quickest way to explore any corner of the city's cuisine. Jake recommends La Cubana.
Oretta ($$)
This is for the insta-girlies. 12/10 vibes and delicious Italian bites. Go here for a cheeky pre-ceremony Aperol Spritz.
Dinner
Khao San Road ($$)
Amazing thai food! This is our go-to date spot. Meg loves the Pad Gra Prao. Jake recommends the Thai Green Curry.
Wheatsheaf ($$)
Toronto's Oldest Pub - opened in 1849. Megan recommends the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, Jake recommends a pint of Guinness.
Le Swan ($$)
This place is a paradox in identity - it's an elevated French Diner where you can choose between a Pogo Stick or Steak Tartare (surprisingly, we recommend getting the Pogo Stick). Jake and Meg's first anniversary dinner!
Hawker ($$)
A vegan and Southeast Asian tapas restaurant. One of our first dates was here - Jake still talks about how beautiful Megan looked that night.
The Cottage Cheese ($$)
An Indian restaurant in Kensington Market that Jake has asked Megan to go back to many times since their first visit. The Mango Curry is a 10/10.
Byblos ($$$)
A pricier, yet superb option if you are looking for some Eastern Mediterranean eats. Megan has not stopped talking about the lamb, and it's been almost two years since we went to eat here.
Best Pizza in the City
This is a heated debate that has spanned the length of our relationship. It is a very serious matter that we need your help to settle it once and for all.
North of Brooklyn ($$)
Jake's Favourite.
Descendant Detroit Style Pizza ($$)
Megan's Favourite.
Night on the Town
Gift Shop ($$)
Where it all began. Megan and Jake's first date spot. A speakeasy in the back of a barbershop with funky cocktails and wonderful memories.
Similar to coffee, Jake has strong opinions on cocktails. This is a must see for the cocktail enthusiast.
Ace Hotel ($$)
Bar most worthy of being featured in Architectural Digest. A beautiful building with exceptional vibes (and drinks).
Library Bar/Clockwork ($$$)
Two hotel bars in the Fairmont. Both are equally worth checking out for those staying nearby.
Ted's Collision and Auto Body Repair ($)
If there is one bar that Jake wishes he could take every one of you to, it would be this one. Greasy, cash only, pool table, dive.
Bar Raval ($$$)
A Spanish pinxtos bar with the most aesthetic interior you could imagine. Standing only, but you're standing in a building that Gaudi could have designed.
