Vespers is a prayer service that prepares Christians for receiving Holy Communion and marks the first liturgical service of the day. Because the liturgical day begins at sunset, Vespers is celebrated the evening before Divine Liturgy on Sunday. Psalms, Scriptures, and Hymns will be sung and chanted. While this is not considered apart of the official "wedding day" schedule, anyone is welcome to come and attend this special and reverent service.

It is important to both Jake and Loren to attend church the morning of their wedding. The Sunday after Pascha (Easter) is known as Thomas Sunday (after Saint Thomas the Apostle). This day commemorates the appearance of the Lord to His disciples eight days after the resurrection when Thomas was present and proclaimed, "My Lord and my God" upon seeing the hands and side of Christ. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom will be celebrated in the morning by Father Seraphim Holland. While this is not considered apart of the official "wedding day" schedule, any and all are welcome to come to church with us on the Lord's day.
