We know a lot of you are visiting from out of town and we appreciate you heading down more than you can imagine! We've compiled a decent list of things to do for whether you are here for 48 hours or extending your stay by a day or two.
If you head downtown, there is quite a lot you can pack into one day. The aquarium, World of Coke, College Football Hall of Fame, and Centennial Olympic Park are all next to each other, and you could certainly make an entire day out of this part of town.
If you are looking for the foodie experience, head to Ponce City Market and walk the Beltline south towards Krog Street Market for two different food hall experiences.
Just looking to hang near the venue? Head to Avalon, Halcyon, or check out Downtown Roswell for something more low-key.
Due to the location of the venue, we recommend staying closer to Alpharetta the day of the wedding or allowing an hour-and-a-half of travel time back to be safe.
One of the US's best aquariums resides in the heart of ATL! Check out the famed Whale Sharks and Beluga whales that comprise of one of the many sea creatures to spectate. We recommend booking tickets ahead of time.
Once a Sears & Roebuck warehouse now turned into a food hall and shopping center, Ponce City Market is a great place to base your afternoon.
Check out Five Daughter's Bakery for some of Jake & Megan's favorite doughnuts or grab a bite at H&F for a guilty pleasure cheeseburger. Walk around, enjoy the food and shops, and then make your way up to the Beltline, a converted walking path with more restaurants and shops.
October is generally the best time of the year in ATL to enjoy the weather and the Beltline is the best way to do it. Head north from Ponce and you can walk less than a mile to reach Piedmont Park. Head south for about 1 mile and check out Ladybird for a great afternoon of food and drink outside under the umbrellas.
One of ATL's largest parks! A good area to walk through and find a rainbow umbrella for King of Pop's popsicles. Looking for more to do? Check out the ATL Botanical Gardens on the north side of the park for their latest exhibits.
Roswell has a very cute downtown with restaurants and a couple of breweries. It's also where we had our engagement photos taken! Eat at Table & Main for a recent Michelin recommended fried chicken (make a reservation) or walk downtown and grab a beer at Gate City or Variant Brewing where a game is almost certain to be on.
Avalon is near our hotel blocks and if you book outside the block we recommend you staying near here. We like to think of this as ATL away from the city. Try some of our favorite in-town restaurants like Superica (must try the fajitas) or Antico (authentic Italian pizza). Shop, dine, or relax at Avalon!
Amicalola is Georgia's tallest waterfall! For those seeking a little adventure and to enjoy the fall foliage, we recommend heading 50 minutes north to check out one of our favorite parks. While your there, check out Burt's Pumpkin farm right outside the park to get into the fall mood.
Although no longer home to pandas, Zoo ATL is still a great visit if you're looking to see some animals up close! We recommend using ride-share to get here as the parking lot is shared with Grant Park and finding a spot can be hard.
Located in Downtown, check out the College Football Hall of Fame. On top of seeing all the history The Buckeyes have contributed to the HOF, test your kicking and throwing skills in their Peach Bowl Zone.
It's ATL, of course we have to include the World of Coca-Cola. Learn all about the history of Coke and visit their tasting area where you can try Coca-Cola products served around the world.
