Our Wedding

Jake and Baye met at Oral Roberts University in late 2018. Jake was a freshman and Baye was a sophomore. One of Jake's teammates was marrying one of Baye's teammates, and their engagement party was hosted at Jake's college house. They got each other's snapchats and stayed in touch over Christmas break. Once their friend's wedding rolled around, Jake asked Baye to dance at the reception, which happened to be held at The Mayo Hotel, where Jake and Baye will get married at almost 7 years later! They went on their first date less than 2 weeks after that dance.

Jake's baseball season started in February and they took their first official photo in the freezing cold outside of J.L. Johnson stadium. (baby faces!) This was the first of MANY postgame photos.

Lots of time was spent back and forth between Case soccer stadium and J.L. Johnson baseball stadium.

Jake and Baye have been on many many trips together including New York, Colorado, Canada, Scotland and London, but some of their favorite memories are from Jake and his team's run in the College World Series! They played in Stillwater, OK for Regionals, Eugene, OR for Super-Regionals, and ended up in Omaha, NE to compete against the best teams in the nation!

In October of 2023, Baye had planned a surprise trip for her and Jake to go to London to explore and watch a Tottenham soccer game. Jake has always dreamed to go and Baye was down for the travels! So less than 2 weeks after they got back from a wedding in Scotland, they headed back to the airport for another overnight flight to the UK! They ate and drank their way through the city while shopping and exploring, and got to see Tottenham beat Newcastle in their brand new stadium- it was so fun! Jake told Baye that he wanted to plan their activity on the last day of their trip, so she had an inkling that it just might be the day he popped the question, but wasn't sure. On the morning of December 11th, they got dressed up to explore before they had a nice dinner later in the evening and headed to Trafalgar Square to grab a croissant and look at their Christmas tree and market. She could tell Jake was stalling a little bit and kept looking at his phone. He then took her down a path that led to Buckingham Palace and stopped next to a gorgeous building and grabbed her hands. Then he dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him! He managed to connect with the photographer of the wedding they were just at in Scotland, who happened to be based out of London to photograph the moment. (FATE!) She then led Jake and Baye all throughout London taking photos with the most stunning backgrounds, truly a dream. After their excursion, they were finally able to facetime their friends and family as it had just become 7am in the states; sorry for the early wake up call!

We are so excited for not only our wedding, but our continued life together. We are so thankful and blessed to have each other and all of the wonderful people in our lives. Thank you for celebrating us!

Jake and Baye have spent many date nights at In the Raw Vu! Try the tiger eye roll (Jake's fav) or the thunder roll (Baye's fav) off their secret menu.

R Bar is where Jake and Baye had their first date! Baye is a mega fan of their ginger margarita and Jake usually chooses a Yuengling lager. Sit under their covered patio and be sure to explore around the Brookside area for other fun shops and restaurants!
