Jake and Ashton met through mutual friends, one of Jake's good friends and one of Ashton's co-workers at the time. They had been talking for about a year mentioning our names to each other and how we should meet. So we took it upon ourselves in 2020 to start talking and within a month had a first date. Jake asked to have a very casual early dinner at Applebees in Plattsburgh. We both felt it went a little too smoothly.

Fast forward to 2023, Jake proposed on the yearly friends Memorial Day trip with all of our friends "posing for a picture", catching Ashton and all of our friends by surprise.
