Jake and Brenna’s love story began on New Year’s of 2022. Brenna visited Wilmington to see one of her best friends, and she had no clue a new chapter in her life was about to begin. Brenna and Jake knew each other from ECU. They reconnected during that trip, and the two of them hit it off immediately. They had their first date that weekend, and Jake, partly joking, told Brenna they were meant to be together. After two years of growing closer together and making many memories on beach trips, fishing trips, hunting trips, and so much more, the two have been truly inseparable.

On Labor Day weekend 2023, Brenna and Jake had lunch plans with his family and grandmothers. Brenna was under the impression they were running early, so to pass time, Jake suggested they go to Fort Fisher, their favorite spot in Wilmington. Jake walked Brenna near the water and set up a self-timed photo, something they always did. It was then that Jake handed Brenna a note expressing all the wonderful things about their relationship, and then he kneeled and asked for her hand in marriage. Though Brenna had always played hard to get, this was the easiest question she’s ever had to answer. The moment got even better when both families showed up to surprise and celebrate with the couple.

Jake & Brenna will live in Wilmington, NC with their two sweet pups, Paisley & Gunner. They are excited to begin this next chapter in their lives and enjoy all the treasures God has given them.
