Jakob and Kayla's story is a testimony to God's faithfulness and timing. The two grew up only a few miles from one another, they lived in the same communities, shopped at the same stores, ate at the same restaurants but never once crossed paths until seeing each other for the first time at Rise City Church.

Jakob has been an attendant of Rise City Church for over 8 years and a dedicated member of the worship and music ministry during his tenure. A worshipper at heart, Jakob has always felt a deep connection to the Lord's presence through musical expression.

Similarly, Kayla was born with an anointed voice and a gift for leading people into God's presence through worship since she was 4 years old. In the beginning of 2022, Kayla began searching for a new church and eventually found Rise City Church online. It was Rise City's passionate and applicable teaching that propelled Kayla to start attending in person. On Easter Sunday of that year, Kayla felt God stirring in her heart to once again pursue worship and she quickly joined the worship team at Rise.

The two met during Kayla's first rehearsal in May and were instantly drawn to each other...and the rest is history!
