"We don't want a destination wedding" - J&B

While a destination wedding was not our intention, we understand that moving to Florida meant everybody will be traveling from out of state. In fact, 21 states and 3 countries! And we couldn't be more thankful and excited to show you the beautiful, fun, and futuristic SPACE COAST!

The Brightline high speed rail station in Cocoa won't be open yet, but you have plenty other travel options. Scroll for recommendations on where to sleep, how to get here, & how to get around. Check out Brianna's Travel Hacks at the bottom!

Or go in on an AirBnB/VRBO with friends!

We recommend Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, or Satellite Beach.

✈ fly ✈

You have 3 options! Flights are generally cheaper for MCO, but the couple has taken many flights out of both MLB and SFB for less cost.

MCO (Orlando International Airport):
40 mins NW of wedding venue
Largest airport; focus city for Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier (ATL direct often $19)

MLB (Melbourne Orlando International Airport):
25 mins south of wedding venue
Delta (ATL direct), American (CLT direct), Allegiant (Cincy direct)

SFB (Sanford Orlando International Airport):
1 hour NW of wedding venue
Direct flights on Allegiant

🚐 shuttle 🚐

Cocoa Beach Shuttle: cocoabeachshuttle.com

to/from MCO, MLB, or SFB airports

Airport Canaveral Shuttle: airportcanaveral.com

🛞 roadtrip!!! 🛞

We're right off I-95:

<6 hours from Charleston

~7 hours from Atlanta

🏳 gotta pay the troll toll 🏳

There are no tolls from MLB and it is possible to avoid tolls when driving between Orlando/Sanford and the Space Coast. It's just typically quicker to take SR 528 (The Beachline Expressway) which has 2 tollbooths. Here are your payment options:

Cash: Each booth is $0.50-$2.50 and gives change. This is the only payment option where you have to slow down on the road and stop at the booth.

Visitor Toll Pass: If you’re flying into Orlando, your cheapest & quickest payment option is through visitortollpass.com (phone app). Don't forget to return your hangtag after you return your car at MCO to avoid a $10 fee.

Through rental car agency: Your most expensive payment option, your rental car agency will try to sell you on their toll payment setup. See price by rental agency at sunpass.com/rentalcar (scroll to bottom).

Reciprocal transponders: Georgia's Peach Pass & North Carolina's NC Quick Pass are accepted in SunPass-only lanes.

E-PASS/Uni: Reciprocal toll accounts with MD, RI, IN, GA, DE, IL, NC, NJ, MA, NH, KY, VA, PA, ME, WV, NY, & OH.

Just drive right through a SunPass lane: You'll receive a bill in the mail based on your license plate's registered address.

★ Brianna's Travel Hacks ★

1. Monitor via Google Flights: Click here to directly access the website. If you see a flight you like, but it says the price is currently high, you may toggle on Track prices. You can also do this for routes, where you will receive alerts for all flights available for the route on the specific date. Southwest is now available, too! You will receive price changes to your gmail but can check all of your tracked flights any time by navigating to flights.google.com (click the 3 lines in the top left and select "Tracked flight prices").

2. Check multiple airports: On Google Flights, plug in your home airport (or several by clicking the + button). Type MCO in the destination box, click the +, type MLB and/or SFB, pressing the + between each. Press the blue check mark and watch the results! You can track flights for multiple airports as well.

3. Book by leg: More often than not, domestically, it is cheaper to book your arriving and departing flights separately (unless you are only loyal to 1 airline). You may save loads of money flying different airlines to and from the wedding AND you may also save by flying into and out of different airports (depending on whether you're renting a car, Ubering, etc.). You can monitor one-way flights just like roundtrips.

4. Arrival/departure time flexibility: Consider flying in Thursday night or flying out Monday morning if PTO allows you. Be sure to weigh the cost difference of an extra night of accommodations. There are countless options near each airport, or extend your stay near the venue and experience more of the excitement the Space Coast has to offer (see Explore page)!

5. Consider the cost of layovers: Brianna & Jalen once missed their connecting flight and were stranded overnight in an airport thanks to an unruly passenger (it went viral!). If it's just a little more expensive, it could be destressing to opt for nonstop flights to increase your likelihood of on-time arrival. ALSO, we've noticed airlines shortening layover duration. Select flights with enough layover time to ensure you make your connection, the way airlines go crazy these days, especially if you're connecting in an airport of which you're unfamiliar. For this reason, we also recommend sitting toward the front of the plane (front row of economy for the win!).

6. Ask for advice: We're aware it's common practice not to contact the bride leading up to the wedding, but as the daughter of two writers, communication is key! Brianna does not mind if you text her for help in booking the best flight for you.

Don't forget to check your credit card benefits & booking sites. Save further money by packing concisely to eliminate baggage fees (most airlines allow 1 carryon + 1 personal item for free), not selecting a seat in advance (airlines will always assign you a seat at checkin for free), and/or being okay with sitting apart on the plane (you're going to be binging different tv shows anyway).
