Our story begins way back in high school. Despite sharing a mutual close friend growing up, we did not officially meet until the beginning of high school at Darlington. While taking most of the same classes, we developed a close friendship during our junior year, bonding over our shared sense of humor. We started dating later that school year on March 2, 2019, and the rest was history!

The next year, 2020, the pandemic hit and we discovered a love for outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, fishing, and picnics. While the world shut down, we found ways to still be able to spend time together and grow our relationship. That spring, we also both committed to Mercer University and a few months later moved down to Macon to begin college together.

During college, we supported each other as we both delved into our studies and everything else college had to offer. We shared so many fun memories with friends during our college years. Some of these favorite memories include nights out at Kappa Alpha Order and Chi Omega events, Mercer on Mission to Poland and the Republic of Georgia, and Mercer football tailgates. Despite having busy schedules, we still prioritized our relationship, finding time to try new restaurants, watch TV series, spend time outdoors, and travel to the beach and the mountains together.

After college graduation, we got engaged on July 26, 2024, at the Lodge at Lake Guntersville State Park, right at sunset, overlooking the water. We spent the rest of the weekend out on the water, fishing, and enjoying the last few days of summer as a newly engaged couple. A few weeks later, we moved back down to Macon and into our first home together. Since then, we have started medical school (Jalyn) and law school (John Lucas) at Mercer, and these days spend most of our time studying!

We have so many big plans for the future as a married couple! We look forward to completing our professional studies together while still finding time to travel and do the things we love. We both want to offer our sincerest thanks for helping us celebrate the start of our next chapter together, marriage! Each of you has a special role in our lives, and we look forward to a night of celebration alongside our favorite people on July 12, 2025.
