James and Danielle met in August 2021, after being set up by their mutual friend and member of the wedding party Michelle. She waited for just the right time to introduce the pair and they had their first date on a summer afternoon on the shore of Lake Simcoe as Danielle was heading home from the cottage. She only had an hour, as naturally, she had a cake to bake back in London, but in that hour they both knew there was something special between them.

The subsequent months were filled with many journeys down the 400 highways back and forth from London to Barrie and vice versa. James both constructed and opened his own chiropractic clinic within their first year of dating. Many hours were spent learning new things both about construction and each other during that time. It wasn't easy but the sense of accomplishment they felt after turning an empty 2500 square feet into a fully functioning clinic was unmatched and something they will always remember.

After almost 2 years of long distance Danielle took the plunge and moved to Barrie in May of 2023. They moved into James' parents first house with their dog Nova and love being able to see each other everyday.

James proposed in the same spot they met on October 14, 2023 after spending a week away elk hunting in Utah. Danielle just thought they were having a date day and was totally clueless when James handed her a note and got down on one knee. She said YES! Now onto planning the big day!
