What About My Phone Plan?

International travel may impact your phone plan. Be sure to check with your carrier to ensure that you do not have a large bill upon your return to the states. It is advisable to turn off all cellar data and limit your phone use to call and texts when not connected to the hotel wifi.

How do I Fly Into Another Country & Clear Customs?

When you board your last flight to your destination, the flight attendant will give you a customs slip, be sure to fill it out, and place the form in the page of your passport with your photo in it for easy access. They will tear the slip and give you a portion back. KEEP THIS SLIP! Once you deplane you will go to the baggage claim and pick up your checked luggage. Take your checked luggage to the customs line, it looks long, but goes quite quickly. The customs worker will likely ask you the nature of your visit and the length of stay.

How do I Fly Out of Another Country and Re-Clear Customs?

Remember that little slip you needed to keep? You will need it to go through customs once you return to the US. You are not permitted to bring cuban cigars on your return flight home, the custom attendants will confiscate them.

Should I Pack Sunscreen?

Bring lots of it! A family of four may go through approximately one bottle per day when spending the day by the pool or on the beach. Bring more than you think you need as it is typically more expensive in Mexico.

Should I Exchange My Money?

The choice is up to you, however many restaurants and shop owners prefer US Dollars. It is also easier to barter without having to know the rate of conversation.

What is the Weather Like this time of Year?

The temperature fluctuates from high 80's to mid 60's this time of year, a light sweater for breezier evenings is highly recommended, in addition to some cozy sweats. Basic summer wear is advisable throughout most of the trip.

Can I bring little kids?

Yes! Mexico is very family friendly! Many hotels have child play areas or specific areas of the pool dedicated to them. It is common for restaurants to have highchairs readily available.

Can I Drink the Water?

NO! Make sure that you only drink bottled water and ALWAYS request it when you are eating out! DO NOT fill up any water bottles with the tap or local water fountains.

How do i get a passport?

The anticipated cost of a passport will be approximately $165 dollars. It is advised that you get your passport photo taken professionally for your application submission, you local Walgreens or CVS will be able to help.

What About My Bank?

Please alert your bank that you are traveling internationally. Additionally, it may be advisable to utilize a credit card when dining out to reduce the risk of theft, as credit card companies are typically easier to manage fraud with.
