James and Maleah's Love Story

In October of 2022 James and Maleah matched on a dating app, and he asked if he could have her Snapchat. This never led to anything, despite Maleah’s efforts to meet him. She assumed he was not interested. Fast forward to November of 2022, Maleah decided that it was not God’s will for her to find her person in Evansville,&nbsp;as she was on track to graduate from the University of Southern Indiana in a month, December of 2022. Little did she know that wasn’t the case at all.&nbsp; James and Maleah started causally snapping again on November 7, 2022. Once again Maleah was interested in him and was hoping he was interested in her. On November 14, 2022, James asked Maleah over Snapchat if he could have her phone number, “for scientific research”. Even though Maleah thought that was about the dorkiest thing she had ever heard she gave it to him. James Facetimed Maleah and they talked for 4 hours that evening. At the end of the Facetime call, James asked Maleah if he could take her on a date the next evening, and agreed to pick her up from her job at the mall when she was off work. When Maleah hung up the Facetime call she walked into her living room where her friend was sitting and told her, “I think I just met my husband.” On November 15, 2022, James picked Maleah up for their first date. He took her to Lick’s Ice Cream in Newburgh, IN where they each got an Oreo milkshake. They drove down by the river and talked. Meanwhile, Maleah did not know that her phone was being blown up by her mom. Once Maleah realized she had missed several calls and texts, she called her mom who frantically asked Maleah if she was safe and okay. Maleah told her she was and wanted to know why she was asking that. Stacy said that her Life 360 App had shown Maleah in the middle of the Ohio River. James throwing Maleah into the Ohio River has become an ongoing joke between Maleah and James and her family.&nbsp; Maleah and James didn’t get to see each other again until November 24, 2022, due to their busy schedules. Once Maleah came back to Evansville from her Thanksgiving break, James came over to her apartment to see her, and the two were inseparable from then on. On November 26, 2022, James asked Maleah if she would be his girlfriend.&nbsp; James met Maleah’s ENTIRE family when she graduated from USI on December 17, 2022. He instantly fell in love with her family and they fell in love with him. On December 18, 2022, Maleah moved back to Spencer, Indiana with her parents. That is when their long-distance relationship began. James was amazing during that time. Out of all those weekends, there were only two where he did not come to Maleah in Spencer, and that is because she went to him in Newburgh. Maleah’s time in Newburgh was spent getting to know James’ parents, brothers, family, and friends and she has grown to love them so much as well! The long distance was hard, but so worth it.&nbsp; On March 3, 2023, James and Maleah signed their first lease together in Evansville on their first apartment. They are currently living there with their two fur babies Bentley Boo and Bonnie Lou who are their entire worlds.

On March 2, 2024 James arranged to have family pictures taken at Oliver Winery in Bloomington, Indiana. Maleah had the idea to have her parents come along to help with their dogs while they had pictures of just the 2 of them done, which worked perfectly in James’ plan.&nbsp; James told Maleah that he needed a fake proposal picture for a project he was working on. Making their way to the perfect spot along the path by the pond, he told her to turn around. At his request, she turned back to face him, expecting him to be doing something goofy, and instead found him on one knee displaying the most beautiful diamond ring she has ever seen.&nbsp; He asked her to marry him and she said yes! 	Mark 10:9: Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. 	Maleah and James believe that it is God’s will that brought them together and that they marry and look forward to continuing their love story, growing more together as they build their love on the foundation of Jesus Christ.&nbsp;
