Hi everyone, if you are looking for some idea of where to stay, here are some options. I provided the rack rate from the hotels’ websites, you can save a little by signing up as a member before booking and/or using your favourite travel booking site.

For those that aren’t familiar with the area, Kitchener and Waterloo (KW) are twin cities that share a border, with St.Jacobs being a small Mennonite and tourist community just north of KW. You can comfortably stay anywhere in the area and will generally be no more than 15km away from everything.

For getting around, a car is fine and traffic isn’t generally too bad except during rush hour (4pm to 6pm) where you can expect a 15 min or so delay depending on your route. For transit options, Grand River Transit operates buses and a light rail system (ION). The ION runs from the university area in Waterloo, through Waterloo uptown, then Kitchener downtown, and includes the two major malls in the area. It does not extend to St. Jacob’s though. Uber is also very popular, along with other popular ride-hailing services. If you are feeling adventurous, there are e-scooters available through the area operated by https://www.rideneuron.com/.
