Like most people nowadays, it all started with a dating app. Katie was excited because James had a photo of a Forest Giant from Colorado and she just saw some while exploring the Bourbon Trail with her family in Kentucky. James' thoughts were somewhat similar, with a direct quote, "She seems pretty cool - I could go on a hike with her." (plus additional comments about Katie being out of his league).

Since our first date after James came back from a bachelor's party (thank you Charlie), James continued to drive over an hour each way to take Katie on dates. He always had a Stanley filled with coffee for weeknight dinners and never complained about the drive or the distance.

The next obstacle was our dogs. If you have met either of our pups, you know that they are A LOT, meaning that they are opinionated, spoiled, and protective of their people. This meant that our introduction of them was a true test of our relationship, and thankfully we passed with only some slight tiffs between them.

We are excited to continue our adventure together with Odin and Phoebe and happy that you are all a part of our story.
