The couple first met in December of 2022 in the hallway of the barracks at Fort Campbell located in Kentucky. Amanda and her friends had locked themselves out of Amanda's room when James and his friends stopped to offer assistance. After they got the door open they all then spent the remainder of the afternoon playing board games and getting to know one other.

The new couple then continued to spend time together by going on dates, long drives, and spending quality time in Nashville.

Shortly after, Amanda went on deployment to Europe for six months. Though apart, they stayed close via phone calls, FaceTime, and watching movies together over the phone.

When Amanda returned from Europe they moved in together where they then adopted two dogs named Bigga and Ladybug as well as two cats named Binx and Boo.

James proposed to Amanda on April 20, 2024; since then they’ve joyfully been planning their wedding and are very excited to spend the rest of their lives together.
