We had our first date! After swiping right on Tinder we met for an early dinner at Centennial which was one block over from Elena’s Chicago apartment.

After a weekend trip to Purdue for the homecoming game things got serious- we became official!

After a few short months of dating Elena accepted a promotion that would require her to move to Nebraska. We accepted the challenge of long-distance with open arms and moved her across the country.

We came to love Nebraska quickly and made many trips between Chicago where James was living and Omaha where Elena was. We somehow still managed to celebrate birthdays, holiday’s, and monthly visits in around both of our busy work schedules.

James accepted a position with Amazon in Austin, TX and moved! Boo and Elena took many trips to visit.

Elena accepted a promotion that brought her to Milwaukee, WI and back to the Midwest. This included many trips meeting in Chicago.

We got engaged!

We decided we couldn’t wait to be married! We had a small courthouse ceremony with immediate family, followed by a backyard BBQ on Torch Lake.

Elena moved to Austin, TX and long distance was officially over!

We officially became godparents to Vincent James at his baptism in Grand Rapids, MI

Boo got a sister! We adopted Loki from the Austin Animal Center and brought her home.
