What is the Byzantine Catholic Rite?
The Byzantine Rite is one of several Catholic Eastern rites recognized by and in full communion with the Pope of Rome. It is distinct from the Roman Catholic church due to its Eastern European roots but although the liturgical form is different, all members are fully Catholic, and all sacraments are valid for all practicing Catholics.
Can I receive Communion?
Communion is a Holy Sacrament in the Catholic Church, and we ask that if you are not Catholic or if you are a Catholic not spiritually prepared to receive, that you come up during communion with your head bowed for a blessing or simply stay in your pew.
If you are a practicing Catholic in the state of grace, you are welcome to receive communion by approaching the priest, tilting your head back and keeping your tongue in. You do not have to say amen as you approach. If you state your name, the priest will include it in the prayer as he administers the sacrament to you. The priest will use a spoon to place the precious Body and Blood of Christ into your open mouth.
Will it be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be held inside and the reception will be indoor/outdoor (weather permitting)
Where do I park?
Both the ceremony and reception venues will have parking lots out front. Once you park at Cypress Ridge Pavilion, signage will direct you to the reception area.
