It all started with a single red heart that James sent to Heather on an online dating site called Zoosk. It was the first time James and Heather had both paid for an actual dating site, more to browse than anything else, neither of us having high hopes for success.

After a few conversations, it became clear to Heather that this guy was a intriguing one, a sarcastic one, and a compassionate one. It became clear to James that Heather was feisty and wouldn't back down from a challenge which piqued his interest.

Conversation was intriguing, fun, and flowed extremely naturally. James was always defending his iPhone choice versus Heather's Android preference. Heather decided to prove a point by offering her number, but clearly pointing out that it may not be compatible with his iPhone, LOL. James was locked in at that moment with the smoothness of that line.

After a few ongoing conversations, we decided on a breakfast date, totally not Heather's thing, but since James worked evenings, Heather agreed.

As we met at VFW, Heather brought James a couple of nice cold Rockstar energy drinks that we had discussed in prior conversations. As Heather went to hand them to James, he leaned in and immediately gave Heather a kiss...actually two. Rapid Fire!!! Wham! Wham!

Heather was unsure if she should run, but decided the VFW had people there so she would take her chances. As we sat waiting on our order, we spotted an adorable service dog that we were both adoring. As James moved closer to Heather, she wasn't sure if he was getting close to her or just trying to get closer to the service dog.

After eating, they stepped outside on the balcony where it was extremely windy where James immediately offered to block the wind from Heather. After a while they went to leave and Heather returned the kiss on the way out.

After that day, Heather and James spent most days together getting to know just how alike they were and what a great balance they had together.

Even though they have not known each other for decades, it sure feels like they do. After some time, the realization was clear, life with you was the answer....queue....the planned Wedding Day!
