What Happens At A Catholic Wedding Ceremony?

Our ceremony will be a full Catholic Mass, and we welcome all friends and family to attend regardless of faith! The Mass will be about one hour long including Holy Communion. Only Catholics who are in a state of grace may receive Communion. If you are of a different faith or do not meet the requirements set by the Catholic Church for receiving Holy Communion, you are welcome to come up and cross your arms in front of you to receive a blessing from the priest at this time or remain seated.

What Time Should I Arrive To The Ceremony?

We recommend that guests arrive 15 to 20 minutes or so before the official ceremony start time so everyone can get settled before the proceedings. The wedding will start at 4:00 pm.

What will The wedding-day timeline look like?

How long will the ceremony be? About 1 hour long. Will cocktail hour occur immediately following or will there be a break in between? Cocktail hour will start immediately after the wedding but feel free to take your time. If guests have to travel from the ceremony to the reception venue, how long will that take? The reception is in the Church Hall which is across the parking lot from the church so you can walk. No need to drive! When does the cocktail hour end and the reception begin? Cocktail hour will end around 6pm. Cocktail hour is so the Groom and Bride have time to take some wedding photos after the wedding and before dinner starts! When will dinner be served? Dinner will be served between 6 and 6:30pm.

Can I bring my kids?

OF COURSE!!!! The church hall is large and has plenty of space for kids to play and have fun together.

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

We'll be serving light hors d'oeuvres/ appetizers during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet style dinner and desserts.

Wedding Dress Code

It is not unusual to find yourself wondering what to wear to a catholic wedding. Of course, most of them do not usually have a strict wedding dress code. However, a catholic wedding isn’t so different from a formal wedding in terms of what to wear. Nonetheless, ours is semi-formal by virtue. This means that men can choose to wear suits or simply shirts and ties or a polo and nice pants. Ladies, on the other hand, are usually free to wear dresses, skirts, and even dress pants, whichever works best for them.
