Back in freshman year at Pittsburg State, Jami tagged along with her friends to a house party. The place was covered in old Busch Light cardboard cases, taped from the floor to the ceilings, proudly owned by three small town country boys—one of them being Josh Miller. Jami was just there for moral support for her friend and uninterested in their endless Chanute lore.
When one of the guys attending the party (not Josh) asked for Jami's number she loudly and dishonestly blurted out that she was a lesbian, so he did not need her number. Josh overheard. Jami forgot about it all the next day.
Fast forward two years, Josh spots Jami at Mooreman’s bar and walks straight up to her with the important question that would change their lives forever—“Is your name Jami and are you actually a lesbian?” Very confused, Jami herself had a line of questions for him - Who are you and where the hell did you get that idea? This lead to a long and memorable conversation. Josh, it turned out, had remembered every detail from that long-ago night.
They talked until the bar closed and this time it was Jami who offered her number. Josh and Jami quickly fell in love and they haven't been able to look away ever since. Laughing and somehow having even better conversations every day... and hopefully forever more.
