A: Mendocino Magic is located at 3000 Branscomb Rd, Laytonville, CA 95454. It’s about 3 hours north of the SFO airport and about 90 minutes from Santa Rosa Airport in Sonoma County. We recommend using GPS, but cell service may be spotty near the venue—download directions in advance.
Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes- There’s plenty of parking on-site. Look for signs or attendants directing you where to park when you arrive.
Q: What time can we check in on Thursday?
A: Check-in is open from 12 PM to 4 PM on Thursday, June 5th. Let us know if you’ll arrive outside this window so we can assist. We'll be having a welcome ceremony and dinner starting at 5pm this evening.
Q: What’s the best way to contact someone if I have questions about the weekend?
A: Text Skippy, logistics extraordinaire @ (847)-530-0811
Accommodations
Q: Are there overnight accommodations on-site?
A: Yes! As you probably know by now, we’ve arranged group camping, glamping, or cabin options. Let us know your preferences in advance, and we’ll confirm your setup. You should have payment submitted to us no later than April 15th. Check your SAVE THE DATE or physical invitation for instructions.
Q: What should I bring for camping/glamping?
A: If camping, bring your tent, sleeping bag, and other essentials. For glamping, linens + bedding are provided, but consider packing some warm layers for the evenings in case you run cold.
Q: Are there showers and restrooms available?
A: Yes, there are shared facilities on-site, including showers and restrooms. Cabins have private bathrooms.
Food & Drink
Q: Are meals provided?
A: Yes! Most meals are included and in the schedule. Highlights include a few big family style dinners, taco truck lunches, and late-night cereal bar and a few other nourishing surprises. Let us know if you have dietary restrictions in your RSVP. You will need to bring cash or card for food trucks that will come to us on site. Bring cash and card for food truck vendors who will come right on site during our lunch windows.
Q: Can I bring my own snacks and drinks?
A: Of course! Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and beverages to supplement. There's a commercial kitchen for storage.
Q: Will alcohol be available?
A: A bar will be available at certain days and times for you to purchase from. We will be providing other substances for everyone who wants to partake. We are hoping to keep thursday and friday as soberish as we can so we all are fresh and synched as a community until the I DOs and then from ceremony time on.... we play FULL OUT!! Jamie's dream is to jump in the lake at sunrise Sunday morning:)
ACTIVITIES
Q: What kind of movement will we be doing over the weekend?
A: We've got an enlivening AbunDance Yoga/Dance fusion mix and a wedding themed HIIT class on deck for you to come to if you desire. The property is so beautiful where you can enjoy a group silent hike the morning of the ceremony or explore on your own.
Q: What is Creativity or Carnage?
A: Mendocino Magic has an epic paintball course you can choose to partake in or if you're not wanting to get your adrenaline up during this time but want an activity, we'll have a creativity focused activity available for you to partake in too.
Q: What’s the Silent Hike and Intention Setting?
A: It’s a peaceful group hike where we’ll take some time for quiet reflection and personal intention-setting. No talking—just nature, movement, and your thoughts so we can all sync up our minds, bodies, and hearts for the vow ceremony!
One of our bigger prayers and intentions for the weekend is that you create and/or revisit your own vows to yourself or within your own partnership so you leave feeling revitalized and reconnected to your Self and to each other.... all in the name of LOVE, baby!
Q: What’s a MDA/MDMA Ceremony, and is it required?
A: The MDA/MDMA Ceremonies are optional and facilitated with intention for those who wish to participate. If you’re curious, feel free to ask us privately for more details. We will also have physicians and trained psychedelic facilitators at our wedding for that extra feeling of safety so you can fully drop into the experience, knowing you are supported and held, whatever you chose.
Attire
Q: What’s “bougie cowboy glam”?
A: Think chic Western vibes—boots, hats, fringe, denim, or even a sequined cowboy jacket! Have fun with it.
Q: Upstage the bride attire for the big day... for real?
A: FOR REAL. BE TOO MUCH, HONEY. GO THERE.
Q: What’s “late-night glow-in-the-dark gear”?
A: Light-up clothing, glow sticks, LED accessories, or anything that makes you shine on the dance floor. Since we're submerged in the woods, it gets dark at night and you'll want some lights and lamps in some capacity to see and be seen! Add warm layers like festival furs or jackets for the chilly evening.
Other Questions
Q: Can I bring kids or pets?
A: This is an adults-only weekend, so leave the kiddos and fur babies at home! We really want you drop fully into presence with yourself and the group and feel as present as possible, not lin caretaker mode with human and fur babies.
Q: What if I don’t know how to contribute to the wedding?
A: Don’t worry! In your RSVP, let us know if you need help or suggestions, and we’ll guide you to find a fun way to participate. Instead of a gift, we want you to contribute your unique gift to the wedding! For example, we have a friend literally building the chuppah because he loves wood work. Another friend that is a chef is helping with one of the meals. If decor is your thing, come and sprinkle that magic onto the land with us. Text us with your ideas and we'll confirm what your unique contribution is to this participatory event!
Q: What is the departure situation?
A: For an additional price (was listed in your accommodation options in our SAVE THE DATE), you are HIGHLY encouraged and invited to stay the night with us on the 8th, leaving on Monday June 9th in the morning. We will have light food and activity options for an extra day to play, rest, cuddle puddle, and integrate the weekend together. However, if you do need to get home, you can leave on the 8th.
Q: Is cell service available at the venue?
A: Cell service is limited, but Wi-Fi will be available in central areas for communication needs. We invite you to disconnect as much as possible and experience the magic of human wifi:)
Q: What’s the weather like in June?
A: Days are usually warm and sunny, while evenings can get cool. Pack layers to stay comfortable.
