Jamie and Craig’s story began in September of 2015 when she was a junior and he was a senior in high school. Craig was very shy and he had a big crush on Jamie. She thought Craig was very handsome but never had time to have a conversation with him in between classes. He always tried to find a way to talk to her. He finally had to resort to messaging her on social media. Jamie really wanted him to talk to her in person so she ignored him on social media so he was forced to talk to her in school. Once he started having conversations with Jamie in person, he would wait at her locker most mornings with coffee for her. That’s when they both started having feelings for each other.
A month later, in October, he wanted to take her on a date but her mom wanted someone to go with her since she barely knew Craig. Jamie took her twin sister, Christine, and her best friend, Danielle, on the date to Starbucks and bowling. For that date, Jamie was allowed to drive in Craig’s car with her sister and friend driving behind them. During that drive, Craig and Jamie talked about how they wanted to continue their love story.


Jamie and Craig had a really memorable schoolyear. Throughout the schoolyear, Jamie and Craig spent lunch periods together. During study halls they would go to the library and play checkers. Craig would walk Jamie to every one of her classes. In April of 2016 before Craig had graduated he told Jamie he loved her for the first time in the school hallway. A week later Jamie told him she loved him too. In May of 2016 they went to prom together. Jamie wore a beautiful yellow dress and they had the best time at prom. Craig graduated high school in June of 2016 and prepared for the future. After graduation Craig and Jamie were finally allowed to go on an official date together by themselves although they had been “dating” all year long. For their first official date they went mini-golfing and out to eat at Tiffany’s Diner. They spent a long time talking about the future. It was one of the best nights for them.


They had a super fun summer and they did everything together. They also got to know each other’s friends and family that summer of 2016. After a great summer, in September
of 2016 Jamie went to high school for her senior year and Craig went to Maryland for school. That year they grew a lot closer because they could only call and text and not see each other as often. They learned that absence really does make the heart grow fonder. The first 5 years of the relationship just flew by because of their busy schedules. Jamie was in school, working and taking ballet classes while Craig was working very hard to become a welder. They knew they wanted to eventually get married but they both wanted to focus on work and education before they got married. Throughout those years they had fun times, hard times, and memorable times. They learned a lot about each other, about their families and grew closer together.


There were some hard parts in their relationship that they could only overcome with the help of God. One of the harder parts of the relationship started in 2019 when Craig’s dad got diagnosed with cancer. This was a very difficult time for Craig but it was also difficult for Jamie because Mr. Heilman had become a father figure for Jamie since her dad went to be with Jesus in 2010. In September of 2022, Mr. Heilman went home to be with Jesus. That was very hard on their relationship, but with God’s help they were able to grow closer together as a couple.


Finally, eight years later, the best part of their story was November 17, 2023 when Craig asked Jamie to marry him while ice skating in Center City, Philadelphia with all their friends and family present. Although they were talking about getting married in the next couple of years Jamie still had no idea he was going to propose that night and she was very very surprised! It was such a special day for them and well worth the wait!
They are so excited to finally be getting married on June 14, 2025. They can’t wait to celebrate with all the people who played a special part in their love story.
