For our friends and family coming from Florida/New Jersey/Other states and who haven't spent much time in the Great Lakes State, there are so many things to do/places to visit to get the "Pure Michigan" experience. These are only a few options should you choose to indulge.
Throughout the month of October, the zoo decorates with fall decor, festive food and beverages, themed education stations, animal enrichments, and so much more.
Tickets for a day at the zoo can be purchased online in advance, or in-person at the ticket window, but are generally cheaper online.
A trip to the cider-mill is a typical fun fall outing for us Midwestern-ers. Yates will be the closest cider-mill with freshly pressed apple cider, homemade donuts, and a variety of delicious baked goods. Yates also often has a petting zoo, hiking trails, and different food-stations to explore with your visit.
If you're into shopping, downtown Rochester is the best place to visit while you're in town. The Villages of Rochester Hills is an outdoor retail center with plenty of shops and dining options to explore.
