Jayden and I met when we were 14 years old! He and I went to youth group together at Fairfield Church in Kokomo, Indiana. My family hosted a pool party for the youth group and that's where it all began. Jayden texted me asking for pictures from the pool party, but we all knew what he was doing, lol! After that we talked for a couple weeks and he asked me on our first date! We went to the movie theater and watched the movie "Megan Leavey,"- fun fact; we both still have the ticket from that movie!!! The date went well, we didn't talk much but soon enough you'll figure out that we didn't talk for awhile!! After the date Jayden texted me saying "does this mean we're dating now" and I was like "um yeah, absolutely!" Haha, we were young, we didn't care how formal/informal it was! So the months go on and we kept going on "dates" (as in seeing each other at Kokomo Beach) but we didn't talk much in person because we were young and awkward! Well on goes time and then we hit one year, then it was two years, and then it was three years... That third year, Jayden's family and he moved to Tennessee. I'm pretty sure we thought the world was ending, but Jayden swore we would make it! Well, this was the year of COVID and we were home quite a bit, so we managed!! So fast forward a little bit, we now how hit year four which is senior year- WOW! We tried to make each others big events, senior nights, prom, graduation, and open houses!!! Then once August came, we both started our first year of college... Jamie thought the world was ending again because we're doing long distance and now adding in the factor of college?!?! Ugh! So, Jayden went to Columbia State University for General Studies and Jamie went to Ball State University for Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology. It was tough, but we managed and we're now going on year five- crazy!! So moving on, we continued our college paths, Jayden graduated, and we now hit year six!! This is the year that Jayden moved to Indiana!! Woohoo for Jamie!! Jayden came here to start his path to being an Electrician and he started his electrical apprenticeship. Jamie goes on year three of school and we move into our first place with Kate (Jamie's sister) and Kai (Jamie's cousin). It was definitely different being together everyday because we had just done long distance for so long, but it was fun!!! Luckily, we had our own rooms and bathrooms- made it nice to have our own space sometimes!! So onto the next year, year 7!!! We move into another apartment with Kai, and this time Jamie graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology, AND she got accepted into the Master's program there at Ball State, AND year 7 was the year Jayden proposed!!! Jayden proposed on November 28, 2024. We were on a family cruise and somehow Jamie never found out (rare, because she's quite nosey). Jayden proposed at Turks n Caicos on this beautiful, white sand, turquoise watered beach and it was everything Jamie imagined it to be! Family was there but at a distance and we got to celebrate after, it was secluded and gorgeous, and Jayden planned everything perfectly! So now the wedding planning has started, we have now hit year 8, and we are getting married September 26, 2026!! We pray for blessings and strength for this journey and we're so blessed with all the love and support that has been shown towards us throughout the years! Can't wait to meet ya at the alter!
