The night is February 16th, 2018, Jamie was visiting her best friend (and Maid of Honor) Candice in Arizona, the two girls decided to go to Boondocks in Old Town Scottsdale for a couple of drinks before heading home to rest up before their big hike to Devil’s Bridge in Sedona the next day. Just when they were about to leave, Quinn and his best friend Dillion (and Groomsman) walked into the bar. Jamie and Quinn locked eyes, Jamie called the boys over and the foursome spent the rest of the night talking, laughing and walking in circles around Old Town well into the morning hours. During that time, Candice invited the guys to join them in Sedona on the hike the next day… they accepted! The foursome spent the day hiking and learned that Jamie was not from Arizona and would be flying back home to California the following day… and that’s where we thought the story would end. But it did not…

Quinn was persistent and did not care about the 400 miles that separated them, he was determined to make the long-distance relationship work, even if he had to travel to California every few weeks. The couple maintained their long-distance relationship for 2 ½ years when Covid hit in 2020; it was then that Jamie decided that she would be the one to move to Arizona… and the rest is history.

It was Labor Day weekend, Quinn and Jamie decided to spend the weekend at a friend’s cabin in Show Low to celebrate. On the second day of their trip, they made the drive up to the Petrified Forest National Park and spent the day exploring and hiking around the park. The last stop, before heading back to the cabin was at the Painted Desert Inn, Jamie wanted to take some pictures so she walked to the overlook and started recording, Quinn said he would be right back. Quinn asked “are you getting a good video”, Jamie replied “Shhh… stop talking in my video”, when she was done recording and turned around, Quinn was down on one knee with the ring in his hand asking “Will you marry me”? Obviously she said “Yes” because you are all reading this story now 😊
