Travel from New Jersey and New York Driving - Travel time from New York City/Northern New Jersey to Greenport can range from two to three hours, depending on traffic. We strongly encourage those driving to leave very early in the morning, and spend the day in the area prior to check in. Please check out Things to Do for fun options! Train - Long Island Railroad has a line from Penn Station (NYC) to Greenport (with stops in Riverhead, Mattituck, and Southold). Travel time is about three hours. There is usually one train in the morning, and a few in the afternoon. Bus - The Hampton Jitney also has a North Fork line, with departures at various points in Manhattan.

Travel from New England Driving/Ferry - The New London, CT to Orient Point, NY ferry (<a href="https://www.longislandferry.com/schedules/schedules.aspx" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cross Sound Ferry</a>) is an excellent option for those coming from New England. Orient Point is about 10 minutes from Greenport and 40 minutes from Riverhead. The ferry can accomodate cars and approximately takes 1 hour. Reservations open approximately three months early, so we encourage you to book a spot when reservations open in early March 2023.

Where to stay

There are many hotels and options in Greenport and the surrounding area. Family and the wedding parties will be staying at The Greenporter in downtown Greenport. We will be providing transportion to and from the venue from this location for those staying in the downtown area.   Many hotels in the Greenport area have a two night minimum. For those that will just be attending the wedding (one night) , we are coordinating a hotel block in Riverhead (30 mins from the venue) as well as bus transportation to and from the venue. Please see below for that option. Two nights is an option as well if you are choosing to spend the weekend.   There are many great options on AirBNB and VRBO. If traveling with a group, be sure to consider this option! -- Look for homes in Greenport, Orient, Southold, East Marion or Peconic.   Greenport is a small, walkable town so any options will be fantastic!   Please book early! Summer out east fills quickly and we want everyone to have a place to stay during our wedding weekend! We have reserved a room block at the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead. It is about 30 minutes from the venue but a great choice for people driving from the NYC/Jersey area and for those who are coming for only one night! Please use the link for access to the room block or use ORD as a Group Code on the Hilton Garden Inn website. You can also call and provide the Group code. We kindly ask if you are one couple to book a king room to save the double bed rooms for those staying with a group. If you need to cancel the room - please contact Jamie or Scott as if you cancel through Hilton it will not go back to our block. Note the deadline to book under the block is 5/5/23, after that all rooms unbooked will be released to the public. We will provide a coach bus from the Hilton Garden Inn to the venue as well as a return trip. The block is for one night. If you would like to stay two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn, please contact the hotel to ask about availability.

If you are interested in staying a little further out west there are some lower cost options that are approximately 50 minutes from the venue (Medford and Yaphank). This site provides group rates, but there are no blocks so these may fill up. May 2023 Update: As other wedding blocks free up, there are now additional options available in Riverhead and surrounding towns.

Orient Beach State Park, located on the eastern tip of the north fork of Long Island, is a natural wonderland of waterfront with 45,000 feet of frontage on Gardiner's Bay and a rare maritime forest with red cedar, black-jack oak trees and prickly-pear cactus. Its natural beauty earned designation as a National Natural Landmark in 1980. Other natural attractions in the park include the salt water marsh and marine wildlife. Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Black Crowned Night Herons, and Osprey are common sights in the park, leading to its recognition as an Audubon Important Bird Area. Patrons come to the park primarily for relaxing, picnicking, enjoying the peaceful outdoors, and various recreation activities. Visitors can swim in the bay, fish from shore, go kayaking, windsurfing, and stand-up paddle boarding, go hiking or biking, or walk a nature trail. The park has pavilions available for private parties and small refreshment stand.
