Jamie Palermo and Anthony Barraco were both born and raised in Long Island, NY. Jamie is currently a restaurant manager and server at Jackson Hall Bar & Grille and Anthony is a Shop Manager for Dunrite.
A picture from Thanksgiving 2017 where they were just cordial.
Jamie and Anthony knew each other for years before dating... and technically even before that. Apparently they rode the same bus to school though neither have any recollection of this...
Jamie's cousin Alex began dating Anthony's sister Tiffany. As Tiffany and Alex got closer (and eventually married), Jamie and Anthony would cross paths. Both families even started spending some holidays together, so they eventually became casual friends.
"We were friends and then the next thing we know, we were dating."
Jamie and Anthony continued to hang out and bonded in February 2019 while watching Game of Thrones together (which you know... has a LOT of episodes...)
They eventually got bored of Game of Thrones and started going out on actual dates! Their most memorable date at this time was a day in the city (August 2019) to celebrate Anthony's birthday. They went all over Brooklyn, getting tacos and beer before walking the Brooklyn Bridge and ending the day in Manhattan at Brazilian BBQ.
In early 2022, Anthony took on the terrifying (just kidding) task of asking a retired police officer for his daughter's hand in marriage. It went well!
On May 25, 2022, Anthony invited Jamie out to walk from Robert Moses to the Fire Island Lighthouse. Jamie, surprisingly, did not put together why her mother insisted she get a manicure and put some makeup on before this very casual impromptu walk.
When they got to the lighthouse, Jamie got distracted by a jet flying overhead (practicing for the Jones Beach Memorial Day Air Show) and Anthony took the opportunity. Jamie looked down to see Anthony on one knee, and the rest is history!
Following the proposal, Anthony brought Jamie to Dubco Brewery for a "quick celebratory drink before they tell their families". They arrived for the second part of his proposal-- a full celebration with all their family and friends that Anthony had orchestrated.
