Ron and I first met several years ago when I was in PA school. I was just starting the clinical rotation phase of my schooling, and the first hospital I was assigned to was JPS for General Surgery-- I was pretty nervous. Ron was the first resident I met and worked with, and he made an impression on me. He taught me technical things, like how to improve my suturing, but he also showed me how to be a kind and caring clinician. Fast forward three years, and I was working as a PA in Sports Medicine in Waco and Ron was continuing his training as a General Surgeon in Dallas. Ron reached back out to me in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic-- apparently I had made an impression on him too. We started dating, and the rest is history. This past year is full of cherished memories, including many, many FaceTime calls, that I hope to remember forever. Our story is improbable and unexpected and beautiful in its own way, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with Ron.
