Located in between Cayuga and Seneca Lakes (closer to Cayuga), hence the name Interlaken (pronounced "lake", not "loch"). Relative distance from nearby towns and "cities":
- 7 miles (10 minutes) north of Trumansburg
- 20 miles (25-30 minutes) north of Ithaca
- 7 miles (10 minutes) east of Lodi
- 9 miles (12 minutes) southeast of Ovid
- Less than 5 miles from any Interlaken spots
