The story begins with both Michael and Jamie separately moving up into the Eastern Sierras to kickstart their careers as Respiratory Therapists to fulfill their similar goal to live closer to Mammoth. Michael moved up in 2018, while Jamie moved up to Bishop in 2019. For Michael his dream was to work in Mammoth and his parents were considering retiring there. For Jamie she had a lovely Opa who she wanted to move closer to, and also had wanted to work as a Respiratory Therapist somewhere in the mountains and to start a new life journey. They both were unaware that life was about to unfold for them, they ventured on their trek for happiness and found themselves in Bishop at Northern Inyo Hospital. By the unstoppable waves of covid, they were quickly entwined in a rush of sick patients and worked endlessly in the ER, Medsurg, and ICU units to protect and serve the town of Bishop and surrounding areas to ensure everyone was breathing and living through the emerging pandemic. During the beginning of the pandemic, all other life had been shut out and only their coworkers understood the feeling of not being able to be around loved ones or friends in hopes that they would not get Covid from working in the hospital. So naturally Jamie and Michael became besties, singing in the car at the top of their lungs to lake trips away from people, mimosas to go at their favorite breakfast spot both their families loved, playing Nintendo and laughing and laughing for hours in each others company. It was at that moment in time that Jamie and Michael knew they had found someone special that they had to keep around. From working exhausting night shifts and sitting on the kitchen floor after a shift in disbelief that the pandemic was so cruel, to bringing home a golden retriever puppy, to sightseeing and taking road trips for the first time in either of their adult lives, it was a real chance at love. The support, affection, and all around teamwork that they created became a light of hope in both lives, and they continue to grow and motivate each other to be the best version of them selves . Fast forward two years of the most fun either of them had had in a long time, they have decided to elevate their love for another even further. They are excited to show their friends and families the love they share, and how they plan to make the best life possible while always remembering what brought them together. Thank you for being a part of their lives and sharing this special time with them.
