How We Met

Ricardo and Jamila have known each other for 3 years, have been dating for a year, and got engaged on July 19, 2023.

In November 2020, Ricardo tried his luck in the world of online connections. One day, he stumbled upon a story that Jamila had posted on Instagram. Intrigued by her tale, he decided to send her an uplifting message. Little did he know that this simple act would set the wheels of destiny into motion.

Ricardo was equally captivated by Jamila's profile. Her adventurous spirit and passions were precisely the qualities he admired. He eagerly responded to her message, sparking a conversation that quickly transitioned from casual to meaningful.

A few months later, Jamila and Ricardo temporarily went their separate ways, but in January 2022, they reconnected.

In January 2022, Jamila and Ricardo had countless late-night video calls, and it became evident that there was a strong connection between them. Despite the physical distance that separated them, they decided to meet in person. Jamila resided in Utah, while Ricardo lived in North Carolina. However, the prospect of love knew no bounds.

In June 2022, their first meeting was filled with excitement and nervous anticipation. Ricardo hopped on a plane and flew to Jamila's city. The moment they laid eyes on each other at the airport, it felt as if they had known each other their whole lives. Time flew by during their visit as they explored the city, met familiar faces, and discovered many shared interests.

Fast forward to November 2022, Ricardo visited once more to spend time with Jamila and ask her to be his girlfriend.

In May 2023, the chemistry between them was undeniable, and they couldn't bear the thought of being apart any longer. Ricardo decided to take a leap of faith and moved closer to Jamila, settling in a city just 15 minutes away from her. Their relationship blossomed further, filled with adventures, shared dreams, and a growing love that transcended distance.

One beautiful afternoon on July 19, 2023, Ricardo took Jamila to the Provo Temple, a place of spiritual significance and beauty. As they stood in front of the temple, their hearts pounded with anticipation. With the temple as a backdrop, Ricardo dropped to one knee and proposed to Jamila.

Tears of joy filled her eyes as she said yes, sealing their commitment to each other in the same city where they had first met in person. Their love story is a testament to the power of online connections and the courage to take a chance on love, no matter the distance. They knew that they were meant to be, and their journey was just beginning.
