On February 28, 2017, Jordan and Jamie found themselves in a crowded, loud Columbia bar favorite. The Bird Dog was a frequent hang for both parties. Jamie had come with a group of girls from her dorm, who knew Jordan through classes. Jordan had seemingly ditched his friends (sorry guys) upon hearing who was supposedly at Bird Dog. It was there that they finally met. Jamie, shy but honest, had never walked up to any guy and said hi. Maybe it was the vodka cranberries, but she waltzed right up and confidently shook his hand. It must’ve worked because they talked the rest of the night. Jordan walked Jamie back to her dorm, and when he expected a goodnight kiss, she gave him a quick hug, turned her cheek so he barely grazed it instead of her lips, and ran inside. It was not going to be easy. Months passed, and both Jamie and Jordan found themselves on hard times. Jordan had planned on moving home to take the semester off. Jamie was not looking good to attend another semester at USC. It was tough for both of them. A bright light came in the form of a hopeful, shot in the dark Instagram message from Jordan. “Maybe we could hang out before I go home? I think you’re gorgeous and I would love to talk to you more.” And from that moment on, not a day passed that she didn’t see his name pop up on her phone. They went three months as a couple without seeing each other, finally breaking the ice with the best first date anyone could ever have- a week in Naples, Florida. It was there, six years later, that Jordan would ask Jamie to be his wife. Through those six years, they have grown, learned, excelled, fallen, helped each other up, cried with each other, laughed with each other, and had the best of times. They are truly the best of friends, and would want no one other than all of their other best friends to join them on their special day. The journey ahead will not be easy, but neither was the journey behind them. Neither would want to do it without the other. They cannot wait for 10.18.2024!
