We met online in August of 2022 with Jana being the first to say hi :) It was a slow start due to work trips and family events keeping us busy, but once September rolled around we were inseparable. One of our first dates was apple picking in Julian. Our fourth date was Jana buying a new couch... the perfect date if you ask us.

By November we were meeting each others families and spending Thanksgiving together. It wasn't long after that Martin moved into Jana's tiny one bedroom apartment. It was tight with 2 humans and 1 puppy, but neither of us could stand to be away from the other. Nova loves having a Dad!

We both knew we love to travel so our next adventure was a trip to Norway with Martin's parents. It was an amazing experience and we travel very well together. A true test of a relationship :)

We both knew at this point we would spend the rest of our lives together. One year from our first date, Martin asked Jana to go ring shopping. Christmas time rolled around, we had just moved into our first home together, and Martin suggested we dress up and go out on a date. Jana's fist clue should have been Martin telling her to go get her nails done with her mom. Funny story, Jana decided not to get any nail color because she was unpacking boxes and they would chip. Martin covered his disappointment well.

On December 8th, Martin surprised Jana by taking her to Lightscape at the Botanical Gardens in Encinitas, where they had one of their first dates. It was breathtaking and magical. Jana hoped he would propose and he came through big time! Martin proposed with the most gorgeous ring imaginable under orange poppy lights hanging from the trees and our favorite holiday song playing in the background. Jana cried "Yes!" through tears of joy and we took our time relishing the moment.

But the night wasn't over... Martin also surprised Jana by organizing an engagement dinner at our favorite brewery with both families. More tears and lots of hugs, we celebrated this special moment with loved ones.

Today, we look forward to celebrating our wedding with friends and family. We have waited so long to find our one true love and can't wait to share that love with all of our guests.
