Q + A

Wedding Day Related...

What does "festive casual" attire mean?

Festive casual attire is a dress code that's more relaxed than cocktail or semi-formal attire, but still fun and stylish (skirt, jumpsuit, blouse or button-down and jeans, etc). Sorry to all my fellow Halloween-lovers out there, but this isn't code for wear a costume!

What is the attire for the wedding?

The attire is semi-formal. A little ambiguous, right?! For ladies, no need to don a formal gown- think more along the lines of a cocktail dress (more dressy than casual). For men, it's no surprise that it's much easier to interpret! A suit and tie is just right.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Both! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, and at times will require walking on grass. Something to think about for footwear choices! The reception will be indoors.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes. On the RSVP card, as requested, please note any dietary restrictions/allergies and we will work with the venue to ensure an appropriate meal is provided.

Will there be an open bar?

Of course! What kind of monsters do you think we are?! For the duration of the welcome party on Friday night, cocktail hour and reception on Saturday, there will be an open bar. Following the reception, Bar Mumbo will remain open to our guests from 10pm-Midnight and will be a cash bar.

Getting around...

Are there Ubers/taxis on the island/surrounding area?

Ubers/Taxis are scarce in this area, therefore we would not recommend relying on this mode of transportation for any sightseeing and/or getting to and from the wedding venue. We are currently researching a shuttle option for guests staying in St. Michaels for the day of the wedding. Please check back. Also see the "Travel" tab for a list of car service companies.

While at the Wylder Hotel...

I'm staying at the Wylder Hotel, can I bring outside food & alcohol on the grounds?

Yes! BYOB and food are permitted in non-restaurant or event spaces/ wedding festivities. So, bringing your own beverages/snacks to have by the pool, firepit, or while playing lawn games is totally ok (and encouraged!).

Is breakfast included with my room?

Yes. A continental breakfast is available for guests staying at the Wylder. For heavier breakfast fare, there's a diner in town or just across the bridge in St. Michaels, there are plenty of options. Tickler's, the on-site Wylder restaurant is open for lunch and dinner only.

I see dogs are allowed at The Wylder. Can I bring my dog to the wedding weekend?

While dogs are permitted at an additional cost and on a leash at all times on the property, we would greatly appreciate if you left your furry friends at home for our wedding festivities.
