Our Story

Our story began in a classroom at Colorado State University in the fall of 2017. We were both studying Civil Engineering and shared many classes together. Throughout college we became close friends and spent a lot of time together studying but things never seemed to line-up. Janelle was a dedicated, busy student. I was a dedicated, busy fisherman who also went to class on occasion. If Janelle didn’t show up to class for whatever reason, you could say with 100% certainty that I wasn’t going to be there either. She was my dearest friend before she was anything else. I’d hate to know what my grades would’ve looked like if I didn’t get to sit next to the prettiest girl in class every day.

Eventually, I realized my passion in the academic world was Economics and I switched majors in the fall of our junior year. At this point, we didn’t see each other very much. A year or so went by and we had very little contact. We both graduated and Janelle moved back home to Broomfield, and I stayed up north. Janelle launched her career with a great engineering firm, and I prepared for my career with the bank.

And then, one fateful day, I got a text from Janelle asking if I had recently applied to work at her company. As fate would have it, another Caleb had applied to Galloway and Janelle was supposed to interview him! We had a laugh about the coincidence and thankfully our conversation never stopped. After a couple weeks of catching up, Janelle was coming back to Fort Collins to meet up with some friends and I also was with friends in Fort Collins for the weekend. We hit it off immediately and the rest is history! A week later we went to a Rockies game together with Janelle’s brother Brad and his girlfriend Alex and I knew right then and there that this was the woman I wanted to marry. I called my dad that night and told him that this was it, I had found her.

Things seemed to happen faster and faster from that point on! I was blessed to get to build a close relationship with Janelle and her family quickly. Before long, we had moved in together with some other friends and our dog Tucker. In April 2023, we were fortunate enough to buy our first house out in Severance, CO. Living together has been one of my greatest adventures, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!

Finally, on July 21st of 2024, the stars aligned and the perfect evening out on Carter Lake presented itself. It had stormed the entire morning, and I anxiously awaited a break in the weather to get out on the lake. With a bit of patience, the rain cleared, and the perfect moment presented itself as the sun came out from behind the clouds. With a beautiful sunset behind us, and Janelle’s family present, I proudly asked her to marry me and spend the rest of our lives together. It was such a special moment and one that I will always hold close to my heart.

We are so excited to share this upcoming season with you! Thank you for spending the time and effort to enjoy our day with us, it means the world to our families. We invite you to check out the rest of our website and we look forward to seeing you soon!

With Love and Gratitude,
Caleb
