Connor and Janelle's story goes back to a ski trip in March of 2018 and a couple of mutual friends.

In 2018, Janelle was living in Steamboat Springs and became friends with Caitlin and Mallory Hancock, two of Connor's friends from high school. Connor and a few friends decided to take a ski trip and visit their high school friends. The couple met on the slopes; she impressed him with her ability to ski, and he proved he could handle himself on the mountain.

After the ski trip, Connor and Janelle periodically checked in on each other. One day Janelle had enough, thought to herself, "I'm never going to see him again so what's the worst that could happen", and sent him a message.

They dated long distance for over a year until Connor moved to Denver to be with her. After almost 3 years of dating and one perfect dog together, Connor asked her to marry him in a park with Cricket, after doing their favorite activity, skiing.
