JonMark and Janetta's Story begins at a work function party for the DJ company they both worked for. Janetta and JonMark first met while mixing music. The night began with JonMark and many other DJ's crowded around the iPad providing the music to the whole event. Janetta walked over and asked the group of guys "My I have a turn?" to which JonMark replied with an enthusiastic yes and pushed the other guys out of the way! They danced into the night... and after some coffee... they danced in the morning too.

On the first morning of the conference, JonMark and Janetta were the only two dancing to the upbeat music provided. Little did they know, a deeper spark was ignited with that dance. During the conference JonMark and Janetta played the role of the bride and groom in many examples, essentially "married" to each other several times on their first day. At the end of the event JonMark noticed Janetta needing a belt as she had forgotten one. JonMark stripped his belt right there and gave it to her with a jovial comment: "I'll be back for that!" and with that, their adventures began.

JonMark fly Janetta down for a week long vacation in Greenville were they grew closer together. Janetta hopped in the car at the airport terminals, were they instinctively leaned in for a long kiss without saying a word. Spending time roller-skating, sight seeing, DJing, and a beautiful trip to the beach, they quickly realized how much they enjoyed each others company.

But all of that was B.C. (Before COVID). Then Covid hit.

The wedding industry, being made up of events with many people in a close space, quickly dissolved. Weddings were canceled, postponed or even quickly handled in a court. JonMark quickly found himself with a very empty schedule. This gave opportunity to visit Janetta! So JonMark packed a bag, jumped in his truck, and drove the 1,016 to Manhattan Kansas were Janetta was.

The covid pandemic allowed for JonMark and Janetta to get to know each other and Janettas family. However as the pandemic slowed, JonMark returned to work in South Carolina were Janetta maintained contact with him. Janetta found work opportunity in South Carolina and could not get the beautiful beach out of her head. So she made the choice to move out to SC to be with JonMark.

Then came the BIG MOVE!

Janetta packed everything up with JonMarks help and loaded it into a 26 foot moving truck with car hauler down to South Carolina.

THE PROPOSAL

At the Barrows family reunion of 2023 JonMark surprised Janetta by popping the question. On the night of the DJ party Janetta joined JonMark on the dance floor to "teach" the electric slide. During the choreography of that line-dance, JonMark took the opportunity of her turning away and then turning back around to get on one knee and ask her. He of course had no doubt she would say yes. They had previously talked about the direction their relationship was going, so Janetta knew it was only a matter of time. Although it was still a complete surprise to everyone.

A.D. (After Disease)

Today JonMark and Janetta are working multiple jobs to save for a house, pay for their wedding and work towards their goals. They have jumped through many hoops and endured many challenges together. Including the long period in which they did not know if they would be able to get married. For a while the venue which the couple had been given as a gift could no longer guarantee the date due to the venue going up for sail. However their prayers were answered and they were still able to get the venue for their special day.
