On Cinco de Mayo in 2004, Janie was at a party thrown by her friends from Tisch at a Union Square NYU dorm. Dan arrived with a few friends and quickly fell into conversation with Janie. The two talked until dawn, and continued the conversation all summer long online and over the phone. In December 2004 they made their relationship official, and have been together ever since.

September 13th 2014

After months of planning, Dan and Janie were finally able to return to New Orleans in September 2014, nearly 10 years after they visited on their first vacation together over Spring Break 2005. After a fun and eventful day that included brunch at Commander's Palace and drinks at Arnaud's, they returned to the hotel, where Dan popped the question. They celebrated with a meal at August and a night out on Frenchmen Street.
