Where are you registered?
While we don't expect anything from our guests other than their presence, the truth is: we have too much stuff. Since we had lived and worked on our own before getting together, it seems that there is never enough space. We have set up a "cash fund" through the knot because what we do need is too much to ask of any one person. We also are focusing on saving for our house and higher education. However, we still have a registry through the knot with a few items for those who would like to bring a more traditional gift.
What airport do I fly into?
We recommend Raleigh-Durham International Airport in Raleigh.
The next largest airports are the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the Richmond International Airport, both of which are about three hours away from Raleigh. The Piedmont Triad International Airport is a tiny airport about an hour and a half away.
Where can I stay?
Please see the travel page for a list of hotels near the venue!
What is the parking situation at the venue?
There are several parking decks within two blocks of the venue for your use, all of which are free on Sundays. Street Parking is also free on Sundays in Raleigh!
There is Wilmington Street Station Parking Garage (122 S Blount St, Raleigh, NC 27601), Alexander Square Parking Deck (333 S. Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27601) and 150 Parking Garage (120 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27601) along with others!
How do I get into Stockroom at 230?
The entrance to the venue is on Fayetteville St., right next to North State Bank. There will be a sign and security person also indicating the entrance point! The venue is located on the second floor and there is an elevator also available for use. There will be signs and a venue representative helping guests into the ceremony/reception area.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. Unfortunately this is not only against venue policy but is actually illegal in the state of North Carolina. We appreciate your cooperation.
What does Semi-formal mean?
Wear clothes you feel dressed up in! It does not have to be "red carpet" level although that would be perfectly fine too--there's certainly no such thing as overdressed in our estimation! Also, if you'd like to know the wedding colors, feel free to reach out to the bride!
What is the Welcome Dinner?
We know that many have flown in from afar, so instead of a having a traditional "Rehearsal Dinner" with the wedding party and family, the groom's parents have generously decided to open the dinner to all out of state guests! It will be a casual (and delicious!) time and we certainly hope our guests are able to make it!
What is the weather like in Raleigh this time of year?
It will definitely be cool and maybe even quite cold. So we suggest dressing warm for cooler weather. It can also be quite overcast/rainy here so prepare for that possibility as well.
What will the wedding be like?
We kept our guest list pretty small, so our hope is the wedding will be quite intimate shared with the people closest to us and who have supported us through our lives' different phases. It will be a seated dinner, with toasts, dancing, and a few other traditions. We hope to create a night that will be a really fun and sweet time with people we love. We'd like to actually speak to every guest at our wedding and to cherish their presence there!
Why did you choose February to get married in?
Because it's not traditionally done! We are cold-weather, cozy people who like overcast, rainy hikes over sunshiney days! A winter wedding suits us a lot better!
Are you excited?
We are SO excited! We are excited to exchange our vows and officially become husband and wife, and we are also really excited to see everyone we love and have a fun, memorable night!
