Matt and Janna first met briefly in 2010 when they went out to a local hangout with a mutual friend. Fast forward to 2016, the same mutual friend decided she was going to take advantage of good timing and set the two of them up on a date. Unbeknownst to Janna, she had been attempting to do this for the entire six years since they first met.

On June 18th, 2016, Matt and Janna went on their first date- which lasted 12 hours. After dinner and drinks, they stayed up the entire night talking about random things. When they realized the sun was rising, they decided to go get breakfast together before heading their separate ways.

On June 25th, 2016, Janna called her cousin, Hannah, before their second date, to tell her that she'd found the man she was going to marry. It was during that same second date that Matt realized he wanted to marry Janna, too.

On November 30th, 2019, after three-and-a-half years of dating, Matt proposed to Janna at the Mythos Restaurant in Islands of Adventure.
