How and where do I RSVP?
Right here!!! Formal invitations will be mailed January 2025. Kindly respond by March 1, 2025 by referring to the “RSVP” tab within this website.
Should we bring gifts?
We know traveling expenses can add up quickly therefore, just you making it to Texas to spend our special day with us is gift enough. For those of you who won’t take “don’t worry about it” for an answer feel free to browse the Registry link on this website.
Are my children allowed to come?
Yes! Zaylie and Lochlyn wouldn’t want it any other way. Of course if you’re looking for an excuse to do an adult long weekend getaway and not have to worry about watching them at the wedding venue, we won’t judge, just know they’re welcome either way.
When should I book my hotel?
ASAP! If you want to stay at the Marriott you’ll need to book a room ASAP as they are likely to sell out. Unfortunately because of their high demand they will not offer a room block or discounted rate for our wedding party. If you run into a situation where they cannot accommodate your room you may choose to book at the Hilton Garden Inn across the street. There is a room block and discount under our names. And just a mile or so away there’s a nice Hyatt Place which offers free parking and breakfast. All 3 hotels will have shuttle services. For more information please see the Tab entitled “Accommodations”.
What airports should we fly into?
DFW or DAL. They’re both equal distance. It really depends on the airline you choose. American and other similar airlines fly into DFW whereas Southwest mainly uses DAL.
When should we book our flights?
Approximately 6 weeks before your flight date (3/18/25) on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but no later than April 10, 2025 or prices will start to rise.
Any tips for less expensive flights?
1. Use incognito mode and clear your cache, delete your search history.
2. Use a VPN in a less expensive country.
3. Use Skyscanner or Google Flights. You can also select “anywhere” as the destination.
4. Book before April 10th, 2025.
5. Use the Flight Hopper app for watching prices and be notified of price changes.
6. If you’re looking at DAL check Southwest directly on their website for “get away” pricing.
7. Spirit, Frontier and Breeze airlines are generally discounted. Just remember they have hidden fees for luggage and carry on baggage.
8. There is a website called Skiplag. This is when the destination is other than DAL/DFW but has a layover in DAL/DFW and you just don’t get on the second flight. Airlines are starting to crack down on this so read the fine print and remember to use carryon luggage and not checked bags or your luggage will end up at the next destination.
What day should we arrive?
That’s completely up to you. Our wedding is on a Friday so we understand you’ll be taking time off of work, which isn’t always easy to do. We’ll be checking into the hotel on Thursday, May 1st, and will be holding a welcome dinner for all you out-of-towners so we hope you can at least arrive by Thursday evening, but if you can’t, just remember Texas is 2 hours ahead of the Pacific time zone so you’ll land much later than the 2 1/2 hour flight time. You’re more than welcome to make a longer vacation out of it. Come earlier in the week and partner up with other friends and family to go exploring in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco. There’s plenty of things to see and do, we might be busy earlier in the week but we have Thursday, Friday and Saturday dedicated to spending time with you.
What day should we leave?
Again, totally up to you. Saturday morning we’ll have an informal family and friends brunch at the hotel. You can check out and fly home on Saturday, May 3rd or feel free to fly out Sunday or Monday and spend Sunday with us too. Come see our home, take a ride on our boat and take in the views of the lake. Let’s make a weekend out of it!
Should we rent a car?
That depends on your budget and length of stay. We will be providing shuttle services to/from the hotel and wedding venue the day of. There’s plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel as well. An Uber will cost about $59 to/from the airport each way. If you want to rent a car feel free to do so; Costco has rental cars and if you’re not a Costco member www.airportrentals.com is another website for competitive pricing. Of course there’s plenty of family here to help with transportation if you need it.
What will the weather be like that weekend?
On May 2, the temperature in Dallas typically ranges from 63°F to 78°F and is rarely below 53°F or above 87°F so pack accordingly. With that said, the weather in Texas is totally unpredictable. Our ceremony will be held outside so pray for clear skies and no rain for us. However even if it does rain, there’s a saying here… If you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes.
What if I want to drive myself to the Venue?
We hope you enjoy the libations of the open bar and take advantage of the free shuttle service to/from our wedding venue to get back safely. However we understand, especially if you’re local to Texas you might want to drive yourself. Just remember the traffic, especially on a Friday afternoon can be bad, so please give yourself plenty of time to get to the venue and don’t take 380! There is plenty of parking at the venue for your personal vehicle. You can park at the hotel and ride to/from the venue even if you choose not to stay at the hotel. Or you can just Uber round trip to the venue as well.
What if I want to leave early from the wedding?
Well we hope you don’t! We want all our loved ones to dance the night away with us. However we understand there is a time difference for some, and unforeseen circumstances can happen. We will have complimentary shuttle services running that night, but ride shares do service the venue.
What if I don’t want to stay at that hotel?
Whatever you prefer, whatever hotel works best for you and what you want to do during your stay in Texas, is your choice. The cities of Frisco and Plano have lovely higher class hotels with lots of things to do which are closer to our house if that’s something you prefer. If you have points or status with Hilton, there’s also a Hilton Garden Inn within walking distance to the Marriott that may be less expensive, or in case the Marriott is sold out. And you’ll still be able to use the shuttle service to and from the venue. Or if you prefer, there are Air B&Bs and homes you can rent in the area if you have large parties who will chip in on the lodging.
What if I’ve tried to figure out this trip but financially it’s just out of my budget?
We understand finances can be tough, budgets are tight, we all live paycheck to paycheck, and travel costs add up. The most important thing is you’re here to celebrate with us on our special day, so let us help you get here. Please don’t let finances hinder you from being with us; reach out to either one of us and let us know how we can help you. Remember the Groom works for American Airlines and the Marriott hotel chain, so he’ll do whatever he can to help, as he’s really worried about burdening his family with travel expenses. We can also arrange for bunking up/roommates who want to save on hotel costs. Likewise, if you have airline points or hotel vouchers you want to donate for other friends and family to make the trip here, especially in lieu of a gift, please let us know if you’re willing to help.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes. All drinks will be complimentary throughout the event, however tipping is encouraged. Cocktail hour will serve beers, wines, and His & Her’s Signature Drinks. Dinner and Reception will be premium full bar.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, dairy intolerant, gluten intolerant, need a children’s meal or something else, please note this on your RSVP and we’ll have our caterer accommodate your request.
Why did I get assigned this table number?
You’re all equally important to us, so don’t give the table number assignment another thought. Table assignments are strictly for catering to identify those with dietary restrictions.
What if I don’t want to fly?
You may choose to drive rather than fly. But believe it or not, after gasoline and hotel charges throughout the drive flying might end up being less expensive. Total driving time is 21 hours from LA. If you want to drive reach out to us we’ll help you with your driving itinerary, safe places to stay overnight, and scenic stops along the way. Please allow yourself at least 3 days driving time.
