I see it says you are having an unplugged ceremony. What is that? Why are you having one?
An unplugged ceremony is when the couple requests their guests to put away, silence, or turn off all their devices (cell phones, cameras, etc.) for the duration of the ceremony.
We've decided to have an unplugged ceremony because we want you all to be present and in the moment during our ceremony! Don't worry, we have an amazing photographer and videographer who will be working behind the scenes to capture all the moments you would with your own devices. This also allows them to capture beautiful moments during the ceremony without having to worry about other devices obstructing their shot or deflecting harsh flashes.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
The ceremony begins at 4:00pm, we recommend you arrive by 3:30pm at the latest to ensure you can find the venue and comfortably arrive on time. Shuttles will be provided to and from the venue.
Is there a Shuttle?
Yes, there is a shuttle! The shuttle will pick people up from three different destinations. He will be stopping at Sunset Inn, the Clarion, and Super 8 to pick up people if they need a ride to the venue. Pickup times will be 2:00-3:30pm. Kent will only be at each hotel for an allotted amount of time, so if you need a ride to the venue make sure you don't miss it!
At the end of the night, the same shuttle will drive people home wherever they need to be dropped off! Drop-offs will be from 11:00pm-2:00am. The shuttle is paid for but if you want to leave a small tip for the excellent driver that is encouraged but not necessary!
Is there parking available?
Parking will be available at the venue. If you drive, there will be signage indicating where to park. Just be prepared to take a brief walk down the driveway.
Is the Venue Indoors or Outdoors?
The ceremony will be held outdoors, and the reception will take place under a tent. Both the ceremony and reception will be on grass, so be mindful of your footwear!
Are Hotel Rooms Available?
Yes! As we know we have many out-of-town guests coming in to celebrate us, we have blocked off 25 rooms at the Super 8 Hotel in Kenora. To book a room, please call Super 8 Hotel and let them know you are booking one of the reserved rooms under the Wilcott Carson block. Please ensure you have these rooms booked 1 month in advance or reserved rooms will be cancelled.
There are also some rooms blocked off at the Sunset Inn (use to be referred to as the Days Inn). You can call the hotel to book a room there. The reservation is under Wilcott/Carson.
Book them before the blocks fill up! If unable to reserve one of these rooms there are other hotels or airbnbs in town that can be contacted these are the only ones I blocked off.
Are Children Invited?
Although we adore all the little ones in our lives, only select children will be accommodated on an invitation-only basis, please refer to your invitation for further clarification!
Do I need to bring a gift?
Having you join us on our day is the only gift we need! However, if you insist on a gift, a contribution towards our honeymoon will be greatly appreciated!
Can I bring a date?
With the size of our families, we have a strict guest list. Our wedding is RSVP only, we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Our wedding will be semi-formal/dressy casual, but we want you to feel comfortable and confident, so wear something you feel good in!
