Jared & Kenley first met in 2022 when they ended up in the same ward for church following boundary changes. Shortly after, Kenley and some of her friends befriended Jared’s roommates, Aaron & Nate. She would come over to Jared’s house often with her friends for games and movies, though Jared only knew her at the time as one of the loud girls downstairs while he tried to sleep.

Then in early 2024 the two of them decided to start hanging out more and build more of a friendship. This included going to rodeos, concerts, and frequent walks around the park near Kenley’s house. They grew closer as they talked on these walks.

Jared's sister, Shelby, came to visit for his birthday in summer of '24. She got the chance to meet Kenley at Jared's birthday party. The next day, while Jared and Shelby were hiking in Bryce Canyon, she couldn't stop talking about how Jared should pursue Kenley.

One night after a game night at Kenley’s house, she invited Jared to stay and watch Yellowstone with her. As they watched, they started cuddling. They soon decided they should go on a date to determine what interest there was between the two of them.

They had their first date at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, visiting the Butterfly Biosphere and the Dinosaur Museum. After that, they spent a lot of time together and the connection between them grew.

One weekend in October 2024, Jared & Kenley went on a short trip with their friend Abbie to see the Halloween activities surrounding Rexburg, Idaho. While walking around the BYU-Idaho campus in Rexburg, they took a moment to decide to make their relationship official.

After months of dating, they decided they would love to be together forever. In February of 2025, Jared took Kenley on a walk like they frequently would. But this time they stopped while going around the park and he got down on a knee to ask her to marry him.

They will be getting married on October 11, 2025, exactly 1 year to the day of their first date at Thanksgiving Point. They are excited to start life together and see what God has in store for them in their lives.

On the morning of October 11th Jared & Kenley will be sealed together in a special ceremony in the Taylorsville Utah Temple. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, wedding days not only involve a traditional ceremony but include a sealing ceremony in the temple. In the sealing ceremony the bride & groom are not married until death do you part, but rather for time & all eternity. This means that the couple promise between them and God to love and support each other for all eternity. After Jared & Kenley make this special promise they will be joined by close loved ones for a ceremony to exchange rings. Later in the evening there will be a reception to celebrate with the many people that have been a part of their lives.
