Location

Our venue is located about 20 miles north of Harrisonburg, which is where the majority of options for hotels are. There are a few different routes to get to our venue via Harrisonburg. The more scenic route is Route 42, which runs through MK's hometown: Broadway. The quicker route is via I-81 North. Regardless of how you decide to come, once you hit the rolling hills, enjoy the scenic ride through northwest Rockingham county.

Hotels

We have a block booking rate available at Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, VA, approximately 30 minutes from the venue. The block booking rate will close on April 16th, 2024, so be sure to get your spot before then! So, say you get into town and you want a bite to eat. Here are some of our favorite places to go in Harrisonburg:

Open: Mon-Friday 11am – 12am, Saturday &amp; Sunday 10am – 12am Billy Jack's is a local college and townie staple. It has been the site of many a date night for us!&nbsp;Here are some of our top choices for food here:-The Redneck Nachos- The Greg Brady Sliders-The Sticky Nuggs Box (sticky sweet chili or garlic herb and parmesan)-House Made Donuts

Open: Monday-Sunday 11am - 10pm O'Neill's Grill is a family favorite for us, and one we go to frequently. Serving classic American food, there is something for everybody. but here are a few of our favorites:-Bacon Cheese Fries-The Epic Dinner Meal-The Harrisonburg Hot Sandwich-The Cookie Skillet (you just got to)

Open: Tuesday – Saturday: 11am – 2:30pm, 5pm – 9pm If you are feeling a bit more upscale, Rocktown Kitchen has you covered. With a seasonal menu and local sourcing, this gives a great taste of the area. We could give our recommendations, but I think that there is no dish that you could go wrong ordering here.

Open: Monday-Saturday 4 PM - 10 PM Finally, if our wedding is making you feel fancy, you could make a reservation to go to Local Chop &amp; Grill House. This place has starred in a number of our anniversary dinners, and each meal has nearly brought a tear to my eye. The menu is also locally sourced and seasonal in many cases, but here are some dishes we love that are pretty consistently on the menu: -Roasted Brussel Sprouts-Duck Fat Fries-Whatever local cut of beef or pork is available

Travel

Showalter's Orchard (affectionately known as simply "Showalter's") is a beautiful farm that showcases the incredible views of the Shenandoah Valley.&nbsp;

In addition to being a beautiful venue, Showalter's has always held a special place in our hearts, acting as an integral location of our childhoods and relationship.

MK fondly remembers multiple field trips to the orchard throughout pre-k and elementary school. Jared grew up with the Showalters as family friends and church members. Together, Jared and MK frequently visited the orchard, including picking pumpkins in high school, buying Mother's Day flowers, exploring the Christmas market, picking up sweet cider for family Thanksgivings, and more recently enjoying the Old Hill tasting room.

When a family friend was the first bride of the new Showalter's Orchard wedding venue in 2019, MK could hardly contain her excitement. It felt only natural that this magical place also act as the setting of our vows.
